The First Step

Father’s strength and wisdom are available for weary people to take the first step after not moving against things that have defeated them in the last year. The time of not doing something about defeating-factors is over. The first step will be admitting there is a problem and wanting the answer, even if it means we have to put forth some effort and make some changes. The first step will be to not wait for others and not wait for those circumstances to change, but begin the change in us.  Ps.37:23— “The steps of a [good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step].” (Amp)

The Currents of Life and Adjusting

MELISSA — I don’t know of anyone who is not going through something right now. Whether it be physical chaos, doors shutting, relational tensions, or the currents of life, there seems to be something of a strained nature going on everywhere you look (I won’t even list the nation’s woes). There is such a vast array of things happening but each thing is very personal to the one facing it. A couple of months ago the Lord told me I had been stationed in a particular place as a watchman but that season was almost over. Hmm, OK. What does that mean? Then about a month later, as clear as can be, I heard Him say, “Your life is about to change drastically.” After I heard this I got so excited deep down in my core but my soul, not so much! My soul went a little crazy, “WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!!!!” I had to calm myself down knowing that God is not the type to give you a mysterious clue that your life is about to fall apart and I had to stand firmly on Psalm 37:23—“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.”

The Month of September is For

There are matters of worry that seem so obvious. The month of September is for not letting what seems to be obvious to have control over our emotions and decision-making but stand firm upon the solid promises and the lasting Word of Almighty God. September is the month to quote the eternal Word of God more than we quote the nay-sayers and those who push misbeliefs and misinformation.  Ps.37:3,Amp—“Trust [rely on and have confidence] in the Lord and do good; Dwell in the land and feed [securely] on His faithfulness.”  Prov.28:26,Amp—“He who trusts confidently in his own heart is a [dull, thickheaded] fool, But he who walks in [skillful and godly] wisdom will be rescued.”

God or Doubts?

Nothing is birthed and the flames of gifting fade away when we take our focus off “God said” and place it on our inner doubts and struggles. Those doubts are fed by the detractor (“one who disparages or belittles the worth of something”) and those he enlists. What God promises, He also performs. The “how” of it is not our concern. It is God’s and it is no problem (cf.Heb.11:3). Cf.”Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart (Ps.37:3-4).”

Drastic Changes

Melissa — I don’t know of anyone who is not going through something right now. God is Faithful no Matter Circumstances

The Lord is still working in people’s lives in spite of the enemy trying to get everyone’s focus on the negative. A couple of weeks ago Kathy, Melissa and I were PlentyLittle.jpgministering to a group of leaders at a church. After the meeting a young man walked up and said that several years ago I walked up to him and put a $20 bill in his shirt pocket and said, “You will have income when others do not”. He said that has been the case for all those years. Even during the pandemic their business has picked up continually and he and his wife have doubled their savings since the pandemic started. Ps.37:18-19, TPT — “Day by day the Lord watches the good deeds of the godly and he prepares for them his forever-reward. 19 Even in a time of disaster he will watch over them, and they will always have more than enough no matter what happens.”

Correction and Trusting

Chain Trust.jpgCondemnation will make it almost impossible for us to be corrected. Correction requires trusting someone else’s decision or opinion. Correction requires being willing to change where necessary. Trust in God will get trouble off the porch.(Ps.37:39) Trust is a guard against condemnation. (Jn.5:24) Trust will overcome your past. (Ps.34:2) Trust is a weapon that defeats condemnation. —Kathy G
