Pleasant Memories

memoriescouplesunMay sights, sounds and smells bring back to you pleasant memories. May those remembrances serve as witnesses to you of what is yet to come. May your heart and mind be filled with all the good things our good God has done in His Word and may you thrill with the possibilities for your tomorrows. May you see them coming on the horizon and may you embrace them in near days.
”Joyfully you’ll pull up buckets of water from the wells of salvation. And as you do it, you’ll say, ‘Give thanks to God. Call out his name. Ask him anything! Shout to the nations, tell them what he’s done, spread the news of his great reputation!’” (Isa.12:3-4, Msg)

Harassment and Coincidence

While writing this article, I was interrupted by the insurance lady. When I went back to the computer, this article file would not open again!  Finally, after many attempts and maneuvers, it opened. Then, in broad daylight, a roach ran up the slick metal tube leg of my TV tray and on to my computer fightingroachscreen!  You have to know me to fully appreciate the adrenaline implosion and the level of harassment that bodacious devil represented! (At that point I figured I must be on the verge of divulging one of hell’s favorite operations with this threshold interference ploy!) Of course, I had to stop writing to vacuum under everything that could be moved and then exterminate the house to build up enough nerve to go back to the computer.  It was frustrating and the thought actually passed through my mind to put the whole subject down and walk away, but I suddenly realized the timing of this personal-harassment-roach was not a random coincidence! When I could breathe normally and was over my terror, I realized personal harassment and interference are like a double-barrel shot gun.  Interference works on circumstances and harassment works on us.  Both are fighting dirty in an attempt to condition our thinking and attitudes and opinions and conclusions with the ultimate goal of taking advantage of our superpower which is agreement.

What is Going On?

A question I have heard asked repeatedly over the last few months is: “What is going on?” There is a sudden dawning upon people and nations that manshouldersshrugthings are not the way they used to be while there is an underlying desire within the breast of the typical person for things to go back to the way they were in spite of the ever-present fear that they won’t. Even if you could get back to “the good old days” you would find them woefully inadequate in their revelation and application for today. Current events are not just the result of bad politics or bad politicians. They were not left in charge. An apostolic order for accommodating and advancing the Kingdom of God in the earth was the design when Jesus ascended to the right hand of Majesty on High (Acts 1:3). Things, therefore, must shake and adjust so that the nations might come into correct order.

Hands Off!

(Kathy) Realizing interference was deliberately used as a weapon of delay and disappointment explained a parade of experiences from the past for me, but I am declaring that pattern will no longer parade through my life like a norm.  I wanted to ask the Lord why He allows this type of cunning keephandsoffinterference, but I suspect it might be sons rather than Father allowing such operations to continue.  So, I rephrased my question, “Lord, what do we do about interference that contradicts us when we are at key thresholds?” The answer I heard was, “Pray this way, ‘HANDS OFF’”. That sounded strange to me and I wondered if I really could pray that way or if I had misunderstood.  Then I found those exact words in The Message, Psa 105:14, “He permitted no one to abuse them. He told kings to keep their HANDS OFF!”  So, I prayed confidently, “HANDS OFF!”  That was a step of progress but the lesson was not over.

To Know His Will

sunlightworshipAs the people of God assemble today, may they be lifted above the din and disturbing racket of the turmoil in the atmosphere of our nation. May their hearts and minds be drawn to the Lord Most High and His never-failing Word that shows His faithfulness to those who trust in Him and may their hearts be reassured that their God has a plan.
”And he said, ‘The God of our fathers has appointed you to know His will, [and to progressively understand His plan with clarity and power] and to see the Righteous One [Jesus Christ, the Messiah] and to hear a message from His [own] mouth. (Acts 22:14, Amp)

The Word is Alive and Active

If you know someone who is living outside the Kingdom of God but they have been taught a scripture or two, take hope, for that Word is alive and Two Edged Swordactive and sharp (Heb.4:12). Once the Word is in them, it cannot be extracted. They may presently be yielding more and more to their soul drives than they do to the Word but the Word penetrates between soul and spirit and our job is to pray they will respond to the life of the Word at those moments when there is a cleaving between the soul and the spirit. Sins of the flesh, crime, even prison cannot nullify or extract the Word of God. We are praying you discover daily that the Word of God is alive and active in your life. Patterns and Expectations

patterndrawingThe purpose of the pattern of a prevailing spirit showing up at threshold moments is to thwart times of fulfillment or transition and purpose. If the hits of a prevailing spirit become a life pattern, that spirit often remains unchallenged because it is hidden in familiarity.  Patterns that are familiar mold our expectations which become unconscious agreement. That is why people find Murphy’s Law comforting.  Their expectations agree with the pattern that whatever can go wrong will.

Spies and Focus

canaanspies
The spies were not sent into Canaan to see how big the giants were so the spies could repetitively tell horror stories about them. The spies were sent there to see what opportunities awaited Israel to glorify the name of Jahweh in the growth and advancement of their nation. Is our focus God’s focus?

War at a Threshold

A friend of Melissa’s (our daughter) went to great lengths to prepare her birthday gift. The gift was a unique collection of items that connected promise and timing and encouragement specifically for Melissa in her plans for this year. The package was mailed from Mississippi to Texas and doorthresholdmade it to the end of Melissa’s driveway, but she never got the gift. Every step of the gift’s route was traced, confirmed and documented by the post office from the sender to being set upon Melissa’s mailbox. The mailbox was the threshold of fulfillment, however, there was an unpredictable, unprecedented and unreasonable culmination of circumstances at that point. The mailman said the driveway was too flooded to deliver the package to the porch and so he set it on the mailbox and honked to notify the man he saw on the porch. Spring rains had indeed flooded the drive, but there is no explanation for the “man on the porch,” since there was no man on the premises (that had any right to be there).
This incident was interference becoming a weapon used in a threshold war. A “threshold” is a doorway of decision or choice, a place of entry into new potential and change, an opportunity for fulfillment or taking new ground or laying hands on promise or crossing a line of no turning back, but interference causes circumstances to collapse or go awry in war at a threshold. It is like standing on the shore seeing ships in the distance that are headed inland, but do to navigation errors or sudden weather or tide changes, they pass on by or disappear into the night.

Strengthen Hands and Knees

ManHelpManAs the people of God assemble today, may they lift up and strengthen the hands that hang down and are tired; may they strengthen the knees that are weak and trembling from heavy loads and stress. May many leave the meeting and go into the coming week with strength and encouragement from their brothers’ and sisters’ words and prayers.
“Give strength to hands that are tired and to knees that tremble with weakness.  4  Tell everyone who is discouraged, “Be strong and don’t be afraid! God is coming to your rescue, coming to punish your enemies.” (Isa.35:3-4, GNT)

Get a Deep Breath

Do you feel like your neck muscles are so stiff that you can barely turn your head? Have people and circumstances got your chest so tight you can takingadeepbreathhardly get a breath? God’s love, wisdom and Word are available for your relief. May you be able to get a deep breath today and may the infusion of fresh impartation from the Holy Spirit relax your nerves and muscles. May you be able to relax and be settled in your spirit. (Eph.3:16, Amp) “May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality].” We are praying you discover daily that the Holy Spirit is empowering your life.

Out of the Burning Bush

wallmapmanJust as God used the burning bush to get Moses’ attention, He uses signs to get our attention today. God desires to get our attention in order that He may say something to us which could lead us into a revolutionary direction as it did Moses. Out of the burning bush experience came a people to bless the nations.

God Fill Your Good Ideas

May the Lord do a life-work in you. May it be a work that will settle something, that will loose something, that will open up something, that will lookuppraisethrill your soul and cause your spirit to soar. May it be a part of your present victories and your future accomplishments. (2Thess.1:11-12, Msg) “…we pray for you all the time—pray that our God will make you fit for what He’s called you to be, pray that he’ll fill your good ideas and acts of faith with his own energy so that it all amounts to something. If your life honors the name of Jesus, he will honor you. Grace is behind and through all of this,” We are praying you discover daily God’s grace working in you.

Is God Strange?

When Moses approaches the burning bush he discovers that what he has called “strange” is actually God. When the LORD saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush, and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” (Ex. 3:4-NAS) It is not the mosesbushburningbush that is something phenomenal; it is the fact that God is in the bush that causes this whole scenario to boggle the brain. God in the bush is creating a scenario that is most extraordinary. If indeed Moses was actually calling this spectacle “strange,” it was God he was calling strange because God was within the bush making the bush to appear as it did. We best be careful what we label things in these days when God is fulfilling Joel 2. It very well may be wisdom to stop saying “this” is not God or “that” is not God. A good practice would be to say, “I don’t understand that.”

Preferred Government

Preferred Government—Nebuchanezar was in office for an unlimited term. Nebuchanezar is the one who took the choicest of Israel’s future threehebrewsand enslaved them for the purpose of culturizing them to the values of Babylon. In spite of that fact the Hebrews Daniel, Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego triumphed and impacted the culture of Babylon with the precepts of Jehovah. (Let us not forget that much prayer was the habit of Daniel.) Saul was in office for an unlimited term. Saul is the one who attempted to murder the future of Israel’s government. In spite of that fact David triumphed. Saul was actually used as a catalyst to join the tribes of the nation to David and see that he was seated on the throne. (Remember: David is an OT type of the NT Christ) After being under Saul’s government, Israel much preferred the government of David (NT Christ) over the government of Saul (Heb.: “desired”). He who was so desired became so undesired. (Let us not forget that much worship was the habit of David.)

This Strange Thing

Moses was pretty much just going along minding his own business as he tended to his sheep. One thing he was probably doing on the back side of the desert is that he was walking around kicking rocks and working out his theology. As he walked along he noticed a bush that was mosesburningbushburning. Although that did not seem to be a particularly unusual thing for that part of the world, Moses noticed that it simply continued to burn without being consumed.
It seems that his curiosity finally peaked, so he decided to go over and check it out. So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight– why the bush does not burn up.” (Ex. 3:3) While he is observing this phenomenon and while he is actually walking toward it, he refers to what he is seeing as “strange (NIV).” According to Brown-Driver-Briggs’ dictionary Moses could have also been calling this phenomenal spectacle “large in magnitude,” “great in number,” “great in intensity,” “loud,” or even “distinguished.” At any rate, it was something which was quite out of the ordinary. Moses was quite unaccustomed to being presented with such an unusual sight and circumstance. It was now something which had reached a proportion that he was going to have to deal with it or at least make a decision about it.

Our Guardian Never Sleeps

man in yellow fieldAs the people of God assemble today, may there be reports spoken of what God IS doing and conversations about what seems to NOT be happening be muted. May it be known that God is speaking and God is acting in behalf of His people for the sake of His purposes.
“He won’t let you stumble, your Guardian God won’t fall asleep. Not on your life! Israel’s Guardian will never doze or sleep. (Ps.121:3-4, Msg)

Is The Lord’s Power Limited?

limitlessnessgodThe Lord asked Moses in Num.11:23, “Is the Lord’s power limited?”   In difficult times have we thought the Lord’s power to be limited, even just a little bit, especially in areas of disease or national disturbance or international crises? Is the Lord’s power limited or are we sometimes guilty of considering someone else’s opinion instead of God’s Word? When the Lord told aged Sarah she would bear a child and Sarah doubted, he asked her in Gen.18:14 “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” God Almighty has never come up against a set of circumstances in an individual or a nation that was too hard for Him. God’s power is the same yesterday, today and forever. We are praying you discover daily the power of God working in your life. Generation to Generation

generationtogenerationMy mother, at 80 years old, told me that, as a girl, she personally witnessed all of the manifestations we have seen in the past few years, including the gold fillings and gold teeth. God showing His wonderful Person through those manifestations is part of the reason that both sides of my family are Spirit-filled believers and ministers today. All of my uncles, but one, on both sides of my family are ministers because of the impact the character of God, displayed in manifestations, had on them as children.

God’s Word is Sharp

“The Word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even unto the dividing asunder of soul and spirit.” The emphasis left us in Heb 4:12 is that the Word that is alive and the Word that is indescribably sharp, will leave nothing in us alone. The wordswordWord of God cannot be anything but alive, active, operative and penetrating and it addresses everything in us. That powerful Word is going to leave nothing alone in your life. The Word of God is going to get after sin. It’s not going to leave the destiny of Jesus that is in you alone. It’s not going to leave the songs alone that God inspired and brought to you in worship concerning His greatness to be and greatness to act in and through you. We are praying you discover daily the living Word of God working actively in your life. (Marty’s Daily Discovery as heard on TEXAS PRAISE RADIO at the bottom of the hour 24 hours/day.)

This is That

windblowgrassThere are people who, in recent years, have tried to summarily dismiss various manifestations of God. Some have claimed that because they do not see specific examples of some of the specific manifestations in the Bible that those manifestations are not of God. They go from making that point to actually speaking and working against groups which embrace such moves. If the upper room crowd would have had time to look over the manifestations of the Day of Pentecost, they might have rejected them on the same basis. Peter said, “But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;”(Acts 2:16-KJV). Yet, there is no mention in Joel of tongues, tongues of fire or Spiritual inebriation.

When God Charges the Battery

When God restores something that generations have lost, He must put emphasis on it. In this century we have seen an emphasis on Bible chargingcarbatteryteaching, healing, faith, prophesying and joy. Each time God has restored one of these truths and highlighted it the teacher and the teaching have been rejected and even vehemently opposed by many. God must emphasize and spotlight each of these things because they have fallen into such neglect. Entire generations have become ignorant of them so that they must be jump-started. You cannot start a run-down battery with a typical 10 amp battery charger. You must put a 250 amp charger on it if you want the car to start right then and be useful then rather than many hours later.

Breaking Loose

breakinglooseAs the people of God assemble today, may they soar to new heights as they break loose from legalisms that have only served to bind and obligate them to systems that do not produce life. May they worship in freedom and speak and hear the true Word of God in liberty that produces liberty in others. “So we [Jewish Christians] also, when we were minors, were kept like slaves under [the rules of the Hebrew ritual and subject to] the elementary teachings of a system of external observations and regulations.” (Gal.4:3, Amp)

God’s Planned Horizons

May you reach the next horizon with strength to spare and may you rocket into the heart of the God-ordained participation that awaits you horizonboatsunbeyond that horizon. May you realize the knowing and joy and fulfillment of participating with our Lord and His purposed-people over that horizon.  ”Jesus said, “You’re tied down to the mundane; I’m in touch with what is beyond your horizons. You live in terms of what you see and touch. I’m living on other terms.” (Jn.8:23, Msg)  Today, even now, we can lift our eyes beyond the limitations and doubts of our environment and our immediate circumstances. Today, we can hear the voice of Him Who calls us to open up our considerations for His possibilities. We are praying you discover daily Almighty God’s horizons and His desire to get you there.
