Selfless, Giving Love
As another annual emphasis upon love comes round, let us rejoice in the warmth of God’s selfless, giving love whereby we have learned to love. Rom.5:5, TLB — “Then, when that happens, we are able to hold our heads high no matter what happens and know that all is well, for we know how dearly God loves us, and we feel this warm love everywhere within us because God has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.”

The Contrast of the Love of Jesus
The awesome contrast of the love of JESUS stands out vividly and most significantly in history. It stands out noticeably in comparison to the harsh
government and rulers and culture of that time. Political rulers and military were cruel and unforgiving while religious rulers were stiff and legalistic, meting out punishment without mercy. Jesus walked among the people, talked with them, touched them and wept over them–all motivated by His love and compassion. His signs and wonders never benefited Him, only those He lovingly touched. I suppose that if we look at the life, motivation and actions of Jesus, we would come to the conclusion that the definition of love is “redemptive action.” “For God so loved . . . that He gave . . .” (Jn.3:16)

Leadership and Love for Family
Everywhere people gather, eventually discussion will get around to talking about family and the difficulties of relationships. I remember hearing about a man who attended a seminar and upon arriving told someone that he had come there to learn how to manage his family. One of the older leaders responded saying, “Don’t try to manage your family; learn to love and serve them, then leadership in the family will come as a by-product of the loving and serving.” It has been said that the biggest favor fathers can do their children is to love their mother.
(Eph.5:25, NKJV) “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.” We are praying you discover daily that you and your family are walking in our Lord’s sacrificial love.

May Your Home Be A Loving Place
Your Home # 7 — May your home be a place of affirmation where loving
and encouraging words are spoken and where loving acts are given and
received. May there be many hugs and kisses and may the warmth of
being received as valuable fill your being.
“David went home so he could ask the Lord to
bless his family…” (2Sam.6:20a, CEV)

Pray For One Another
As the people of God assemble today, may the Lord move upon their hearts to put you on their prayer list so that they pray for you daily. May the Lord show you the people you are to
pray for daily. May He show us, by His Spirit, how we are to pray for one another.
“Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].” (Js.5:16, Amp)

Meaning Of February
February means: “expiatory” (the means by which atonement is made). This is the month that many people, and certainly retail businesses, turn their thoughts toward what they label as “love.” So many posture themselves as doing something loving while it is an attempt to get something from the other person. But Jesus showed all mankind for all ages the true selfless act which is truly love: that a man lay down his life for his friends. He didn’t merely lay down His life for mankind but in an expiatory act, paid the price for our sins (Rom.5:6-15).
“By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” (1Jn.3:16, NKJV)
Dr. Don Crum will be sharing a fresh and course-setting word God has given him regarding the next two years in our nation at the SEEC Kingdom Conference March 5-7, 2014. [*No Fee]
