God Knows the Hiding Places

MELISSA — While Iwo Jima is known as an “in-by-inch” battle, another interesting piece of the Iwo Jima battle is that the enemy was all underground and in caves.  Our troops were out in the open while the enemy attacked from out of sight.  Man, if that don’t preach!  Unless you have completely gone off the grid you are aware of the bombardment we have been under and how it feels eerily similar to this type of warfare structure. It’s been a nasty siege but I am quickly reminded that, “He frustrates the devices and schemes of the crafty, so that their hands cannot attain success or achieve anything of [lasting] worth.” (Job 5:12 AMP)  The enemy thinks he has the upper hand, but I think he forgets that God knows where he is hiding.

A Nasty Siege

Melissa—In researching the battle of Iwo Jima this statement stuck out, “The battle was won by the inch-by-inch tenacity of the foot soldier.” Another interesting piece of that battle is that the enemy was all underground and in caves.

Devices and Schemes of the Crafty

This verse pretty much describes our nation at this time. BUT that description will not be the final outcome. Isa.59:14, NASB — “Justice is turned back, And righteousness stands far away; For truth has stumbled in the street, And uprightness cannot enter.” That has a ring of hopeless finality to it but the Word of God continues with the delivering acts of God because our Holy Father is not finished with this nation. Let us now read what God Almighty is in the process of doing. Job 5:12, Amp — “He frustrates the devices and schemes of the crafty, So that their hands cannot attain success or achieve anything of [lasting] worth.” Our Lord will not simply step in and do some frustrating, He will also bring judgment and meet out the consequences of their attempts to destroy this nation. Isa.29:15, Amp — “Woe (judgment is coming) to those who [try to] deeply hide their plans from the Lord, Whose deeds are done in a dark place, And who say, “Who sees us?” or “Who knows us?” Yahweh sees and knows. 2Pe.2:9, Msg — “So God knows how to rescue the godly from evil trials. And he knows how to hold the feet of the wicked to the fire until Judgment Day.”

Seven in the Bible

NumberSeven.pngKathy —The biblical significance of “seven” is “a completed SPIRITUAL work.” So the number “7” in Ps.12:6 and Job 5:19 is about a comprehensive maturing process in us. Be it “7” confrontations, or a trial that lasts “7” days or “7” weeks or “7 x 70” weeks, I do not believe God is counting to seven; rather He is overseeing the progress in us in order to bring us to completion and fulfillment.
