God’s Timing and Appointments

“These things will come to pass . . . in their time,” was Gabriel’s answer to CalendarAppointment.jpgZachariah.  The old priest had not known how to factor in God’s timing into his destiny and purpose.  God not only has a plan, He has a specific time-frame to manifest it.  Many of life’s frustrations come because we have no understanding of God’s TIMING for our gifts and callings.  God’s TIMING rarely flows within the confines of our logic or agenda.  Learning to recognize His TIMING can be the key to fulfilling our calling.  If we are out of sync with God’s timing, we need not expect confirmations. There is not anyone or anything positioned to confirm us along life’s path if we miss God-ordained appointments.  —Kathy

Authority of Heaven is Within Reach

HandReaching3Jesus said, “The Kingdom has come upon you.” God’s authority and power over sickness and disease has come upon your physical body, here, now, on earth. Jesus said the Kingdom of heaven is at hand because the authority and power is within reach! Everything in heaven displays God’s authority and power and that same authority and power can be displayed on the earth. (Lk.11:20) —Kathy

Window Makers

Compassionate people of God will be window makers in 2020. Many people have Looking out windowwalls of impossibility and walls of hopelessness in front of them. They cannot see the future or their ability to have any productive part in it. But people with the Word of God in them and with words of wisdom will build windows in those walls by bringing knowledge and a way out of circumstances. People will see hope, clarity and solutions because our relationship with them, our words to them, opened what was shut to them before. (Ps 24:7)

Washed and Propelled Forward

As the people of God assemble today may they rejoice and declare the Word of God. WaterfallManToday, the Word of God Most High will go forth and will impact His people and they will be propelled forward in the purposes of God in their generation. ”Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, 26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. (Eph.5:25b-27, NASB)

Don’t Back off too Soon

cloudThe tiny cloud the prophet sent his servant to look for was not visible the first six times he walked four miles to look for it (1K.18). But he was right in his obedience to look the first six times as well as the seventh. Too often we back off too soon and see too little. (2Co.5:7)

The How and the Disappointment

Mary said to the angel,”How shall this be?” -Lk.1:34. It is interesting that Zachariah, in Lk.1:18, asked “How?” also, but the question got him in big trouble!  Luke 1:18-20 And Zechariah said to the angel, “How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and ManWipeBrowmy wife is advanced in years.” And the angel answered him, “I am Gabriel, who stand in the presence of God; and I was sent to speak to you, and to bring you this good news. And behold, you will be silent and unable to speak until the day that these things come to pass, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their time.” (RSV)

There were obviously some major differences in the two questioners.   Mary was a young girl with little experience in spiritual matters, but Zachariah was a seasoned spiritual leader. There is no indication Mary had prayed for a child, and there is definitely no evidence she had prayed to birth Immanuel.  However, Gabriel had come with an answer to Zachariah’s specific prayers for a son!  Mary was a virgin with no known means of approaching her mandate.  However, Gabriel did not bring a mandate that Zachariah did not know HOW to complete.  So, technically, Zachariah was asking, “How can I be sure it will be worth the effort for me, an old man, to pursue this venture?”  That really was not an innocent request for confirmation, rather a rebuttal gathered through undeniable years of “tried and couldn’t” disappointments. —Kathy

Which Forms Tomorrow

sunrisesnowToday there is already a working by the Spirit, by that which goes forth from God’s mouth and forms our tomorrow. In God, there is a tomorrow for you. God must now get us ready to embrace our tomorrow. Keys that help us embrace it: 1.) making ourselves available to the preaching/teaching of His Word, 2.) prophecies, dreams and prayer are arms that embrace tomorrow and 3.) declaring it ourselves. (Isa48:3)

Behind-the-Scenes Workings of God

Let’s look at the confirming presence of God in the details of Mary’s life.  Her family, even when they had no knowledge of the behind-the-scenes workings of prophecy WomanRaiseHandsSky.jpgand purpose in their lives, dwelled in Nazareth.  I’m certain that Mary’s parents had no idea their grandchild would be the Messiah!  Perhaps one, if not several generations had made the choice to live or continue to live in Nazareth (which means the guarded one), but it is certain that God was working with all details to position Mary for destiny.  She was called to conceive and bear the ultimate gift of God to man.  Luke 1:30-34,”Then the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.  And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.  He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.’  And Mary said to the angel, ‘How shall this be . . .’” (RSV)  Even in the midst of this angelic visitation and undeniably Divine encounter, still Mary asked for more information, more understanding to confirm the next steps in her life. —Kathy

Clinging to God’s Word

We take God’s Word, grab hold of it and tenaciously cling to it until it carries us into HoldBibleHand.jpgtomorrow. “Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying… I will do all my pleasure.” (Isa.46:10) This means that God declares something before there is anything like it in existence and when it is time for it to be manifest, it comes into existence. He is not finished declaring over you!

The Impossible and Walking With God

“For with God nothing will be impossible,” means just that . . . WITH Him, the impossible is accomplished. That means no strain on my part will bring about the FatherSonimpossible and neither will my determined efforts cause God to do the impossible. Pushing or tugging at God will not work, but walking WITH Him will position us to see the impossible become possible whenever necessary. Walking with Him will keep us from stumbling blindly from one assumption to another or from one disappointment to another. Walking with Him involves His confirming presence and recognizing His orchestration of people, circumstances and time to confirm our path. His love for us is so unfailing and detailed that He not only protects our destiny, He even salvages it at every point possible throughout our existence. —Kathy

God Unlimited by Dimensions

LookAhead2021.jpgTomorrow is a dimension and no dimension holds God captive, nor can any dimension even restrict Him. The dimensions of man are height, length, width and time. Those dimensions were made for man to function in. God can function in or out of them with equal effectiveness. If God can never be limited by any dimension, He can get you to tomorrow with no problem. (Jn.8:58)

God Planned a Path for You

Wouldn’t it be more in character with our wise and loving God to have planned a PathwaySunTreespath for us that fulfills who we are rather than contradicts who we are?  To think otherwise is to assume our Heavenly Father has not been actively aware of us in every moment of our lifetime. To think otherwise is to assume our gifts and callings were an after-thought, after God got to know our personality and talents and quirks.  No, we serve the God who knows the end before there is a beginning! (Isa.46:10) —Kathy

Make Disciples

Men Praying“Make disciples” (Mt.28:91-20) does not mean: teach others to be dependent upon receiving blessings. Rather, it means to teach others to BE a blessing (like Jesus). The teaching, experiences and writings of the apostles matured, developed and equipped believers to be agency through which the Kingdom would be evidenced in this earth (Acts8:12;14:22; 19:8; 28:23,31;1Co4:20).

Called to the Task?

There is an indirect teaching in the foundational beliefs of many Christians that God-thinkingwhatever God asks us to do will always be very difficult.  Therefore, the measure of obedience can become how much we don’t want to do a task.  If it is what I hate to do or what I would never want to do or if it is a mandate that is obviously impossible, then that must be what God wants me to do, right?  So, people set themselves to callings and tasks they were never meant to accomplish and then end up confused and hurt, feeling no one supported them in their efforts. Or, they are plagued by unbelief, doubting they recognize their Father’s voice thereafter. Or, they sink into suffocating disappointment and fear of failure. —Kathy

Molding Vessels

potterGod will mold and chip away and apply heat. His purpose is not to get us to heaven but to mold us into the image of Christ. (Gal.4:19) That is why we have apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. He is using each one “for the perfecting of the saints, the work of the ministry, the edifying of the Body of Christ: “Till we all come unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” (Eph.4:12-13)

God Will Confirm

God will confirm and direct His gifts and callings in our lives.  He does not gift us or RoadForwardArrowcall us, then say, “Go for it. You’re on your own!”  Yet I’ve seen many Christians live stressful lives attempting to walk out their interpretation of an impacting dream, or straining to accomplish a mandate they perceived after a spiritual experience or after being inspired by the anointing on someone else.  While it is not wise to ignore God-given dreams or experiences or counsel, it is also wise to have such confirmed. —Kathy

Fresh Grace

As the people of God assemble today may they receive a fresh impartation of God’s FatherArmsChild.jpggrace flooding their being. May the worship and the Word set them in His arms of grace so that they are strengthened and are able to reach beyond the exhaustion of battle, anger, fear and doubt. May they get a deep breath and find new determination to persevere to overcome. “Is not this the God who armed me well, then aimed me in the right direction?” (2Sam.22:33, Msg)

To Reach Beyond Exhaustion

Sometimes I want to scream, “Lord, just how many lions and bears are out there ManWearyHandHead.jpegwith my name and address?” Jesus knows the difficulty of persevering. I pray a fresh impartation of His grace flood your being now. May His grace strengthen you to reach beyond exhaustion from battle, to reach beyond anger, beyond fear and doubt. May He enable you to get a deep breath and stir new determination to persevere. (2Sam.22:33) —Kathy

Persevere Against the Lion

lion_prowlingSometimes we consider running away when the lion comes. But if we don’t persevere and defeat the lion in our face today (if we don’t defeat the strong mindsets and the rage that’s trying to rob us of purpose today), we won’t be equipped to face the bear. Then if we don’t confront the bear or the negative attitudes, unresolved offenses, flaws, they will hibernate then cycle back and cause trouble again. (Matt. 24:13) —Kathy

Take God’s Love Into Account

RenewMindDo not adopt the world’s sense of hopelessness. Their hopelessness does not take God’s love or miracles into account… but be transformed by the renewing of your mind (Rom.12:2). Do not be held in the present circumstances that try to hold you in their grasp. Get into the Word and get God’s picture of things.

Trouble Linked to Promotion

When trouble came to David on that hillside, he couldn’t see how being attacked by LionBear.pnga lion had anything to do with being king of Israel someday. That day all he saw was teeth, hair and eyeballs lunging at him. He had no idea killing that lion connected to confronting a bear or how that was preparatory to killing a giant or how that would favor him as a candidate for king. (Rom.8:28) —Kathy
