Configuration
Jim Hodges—Configuration is basically defined as: “The way the parts of something are arranged to work together.” You could illustrate this in a computer. Hardware and software are arranged or configured to work together. In the world of chemistry, we observe an arrangement of atoms in a molecule that defines their relationship and function. In the world of theology, let me say it this way: Through the work of Christ in redemption, you and I are reconfigured to our original configuration. Paul in Ephesians 1:3-11 declares that you and I were adopted by Father God in Christ before creation. We were configured in Christ; we were arranged as a son or a daughter of God. To say it another way, I refer now to Paul in I Corinthians 15:45-49 — you and I were in the Last Adam before we were in the First Adam. That is our original configuration! But because of our first parents’ sin (I Cor. 15:22), death was passed to us and our configuration was corrupted! But through Christ, His death and resurrection, we are reconfigured to be who we really are in the Last Adam. Out of personal identity, we then get arranged or configured by the Holy Spirit to be a part of the Body of Christ and find our Kingdom assignments. Reconfiguration, then, leads to both our individual spiritual maturity and to a release of a glorious Church in the earth — many sons and daughters who are like the Son of God! Redemption Through the Shed Blood of Jesus
MARTIN P—As the people of God assemble today may they take hope in their redemption through the shed blood of Jesus at Calvary. May they know they are sons/daughters of most high God and rest in His present love and care and plans for their future. Eph.1:5-8, TPT—“For it was always in his perfect plan to adopt us as his delightful children, through our union with Jesus, the Anointed One, so that his tremendous love that cascades over us would glorify his grace—for the same love he has for his Beloved One, Jesus, he has for us. And this unfolding plan brings him great pleasure 7 Since we are now joined to Christ, we have been given the treasures of redemption by his blood—the total cancellation of our sins—all because of the cascading riches of his grace. 8 This superabundant grace is already powerfully working in us…”

Arising to Vital Function
As the people of God assemble today may they arise from experiences and factors that have held them back from vitally functioning in their Kingdom purpose for the King of Kings. May they find today that Holy Spirit is increasing their capacity and filling that increase with His presence and power through the resurrection power of Jesus. Eph.1:19-20,Amp—“And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength, 20 Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places],”

Fresh Breath of Air
As the people of God assemble today may the holy Word of God bring a deep-down, fresh breath of air that releases frustration and distress. May they freely worship the Lord of life and revel in His love and compassion. May those whose chest is tight because of present trials and fears, experience sudden release in the presence of Jehovah. Eph.1:19,Amp–“So repent (change your mind and purpose); turn around and return [to God], that your sins may be erased (blotted out, wiped clean), that times of refreshing (of recovering from the effects of heat, of [a]reviving with fresh air) may come from the presence of the Lord;”

The Grace of His Love
As the people of God assemble today may they sing of and speak of and encourage one another of the goodness of Father God and the mercy and grace of His love.
Eph.1:3-6, Msg — “[The God of Glory] How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is! He’s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.”

Beyond Demographics
As the people of God assemble today may they realize they are not pawns and slaves to demographics that so many willingly give in to as mandatory but are chosen to
succeed in the purpose for which the Lord of heaven and earth has called them no matter the forces of current events that seem to pressure most into demographic molds/agendas of “correctness”. Eph.3:20, Amp — “Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us,” Eph.1:18, ESV — “Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,” Eph.2:10, ESV — “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

Start Your Own Spiritual History
Start your own spiritual history. For the last 19 or 20 generations, Israel only had a physical history and were willing to walk back into slavery in Egypt. Physical lack and/or physical infirmity may be all the history some families have to date. You be the one who refuses to walk back and embrace that old history. You be the one to break the cycle. (Eph.1:17-19; Phil.4:13)

Times That God Moves Us
Considering scriptural examples, I know I must be willing for God to move me if He sees such a necessity. Sometimes God moves us geographically or with reference to a career or status among our peers. Positioning and timing are high up on God’s list of imperatives (cf.Eph.1:9-10;Gal.4:4-5). There will, no doubt, be need for modifications in our point of reference and our understanding of God’s timing in order to bring the fulfillment of promise. God does not give gifts to be squandered but to bring the fruit forth from our lives that He desires to minister to others.
