Where Did Everybody Go?
God will not replenish what is not our God-given measure of rule and sphere of influence. The prodigal kept spending and spending, oblivious to the inevitable end when the bag would be empty. From the moment he stepped out from under his father’s weighing and measuring of him, from the moment he removed himself from the sphere his father had observed was best for him, that bag of gold began to diminish. When humans imagine and design the product of their own aspirations, the pleasure of walking in it for a season doesn’t allow them to consider financial, moral or emotional bankruptcy (Prov 14:12; Isa 47:8-9) nor how readily they use people to their own ends. Our zeal and energies can take us some distance but the tank will eventually run out. As Lk 15:16 proves, people will grow weary and find some place else to be.

Alignment Before Assignment
The prodigal ended up with the bag of gold he demanded. The prodigal (prodigal means “wasteful”) demands and takes what he does not have a metron over and handles it wastefully. A “metron” is a measure of rule or sphere of 
influence (2Co 10:13-14). When he finished handling what his measure of rule and sphere of influence was not yet fitted for, it was all gone with absolutely nothing to show for all his desires and demands and striving. He had not yet yielded to training that would enable him to handle that particular gift profitably. It’s like trying to haul a dump truck load of dirt in a pickup. The greatest part of the dirt is spilt on the ground and the pickup breaks down under the heavy load it manages to hold. It doesn’t mean that he was never meant to handle bags of gold; it just means that he had not yet been disciplined for that size of metron. A caution to consider is that a person’s gift can take them to a place that their character cannot keep them. A person can manipulate people and work relationships and make others obligated to give them something that they want (e.g., a position, a title, an opportunity). But if it is not within their sphere of influence and ability to handle, it will be wasted. As with this prodigal, prodigals tend to add to their misdemeanours by damaging others on their gift-mishandling spree.
Paul’s wisdom to young Timothy was to first prove men who desired to be deacons before allowing them to serve tables. (1Tim 3:10, 13) A small child can desire to drive a car but he does not have a measure of rule for it and will damage himself and others, though he may enjoy a great deal of exciting satisfaction before the crash. Some people have gotten what they and their relatives and friends wanted for them in a “ministry” but when it was not within their measure of rule, they crashed and many were damaged. There have been thousands of storefront buildings vacated after a short period of time with church signs over the door for the community to read and shake their heads at. The body of Christ can help identify us and our measure of rule and keep us from shipwreck. To quote Apostle Hodges, it’s “alignment before assignment.” Were we sent or have we just went?
The Greater Inheritance
What is the story of the prodigal son about in Luke 15? It is about a father wanting his son to step into and operate in his true authority. But the prodigal takes a direction that
has nothing to do with the authority his father wills for him to walk in. His father’s desire for him would best suit him and would best prosper him and others, especially in the long haul. The… son is after a bag of gold, thinking that would be the means to reach what his senses told him was desirable and attainable. The father had a far greater inheritance for the boy than the boy was able to see through his impatience and misconceived sense of injustice. Through his greatly lacking vision, the son sees his inheritance as existing in a bag of gold. That’s right folks, one simple bag of gold that is not self-replenishing. Just because we can see something and the desire of it drives us, does not necessarily mean that “something” is what we are to aspire to.Concerning The Kingdom
“To these He also presented Himself alive after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God.” (Acts 1:3, NASB)
After Jesus spoke to His disciples of things concerning the Kingdom of God, in the Book of Acts, we have 28 Chapters of demonstration. The government of God, the rule, the authority of God is what we earnestly pray for to come, firstly in the “earth” (Mt.6:10) that we individually experience it and also in the “earth” that contains nations or people groups.

Influence For Proliferation
Influence For Proliferation
According to the revelation of Prophet Isaiah, our children are to have a greater inheritance and influence than we have had (also Prov 13:22). That cannot happen without facilitation and that begins with the hearts of the fathers turned (by designed effort) to the children. Undeniable and lasting influence and facilitation are by the blessing (by 
verbalization and by touch) of children by fathers. Abraham’s blessings are claimed by the descendants of both of his sons even to this day. Jacob’s blessings upon his 12 sons were evidenced by the proliferation of 12 entire tribes who still possess some of the most valuable and strategic property on earth. The most powerful nations on earth have not been able to breach those God-ordained blessings. We see, therefore, the great significance of spiritual fathers enlarging their tent to embrace persons whose natural fathers had no spiritual deposit for them. It is wise to note that Prophet Malachi shows our Lord’s desire not only for the hearts of the fathers to be turned to the children but also the hearts of the children to be turned to the fathers (Mal 4:6). It would seem to be a two-way street of children reaching to fathers as well as visa-versa.

Word given at Saddle Creek Church: The 4:12 Center on 2-17-13:
Forget not your God. Forget not who He is. Forget not His greatness. Forget not what He has done and know that He is still working in the earth. He is still working in behalf of His people. For the Lord your God does not simply have a Hand, He has a Great Hand. And when He puts His Hand forth, that
which He intends to stay will stay and not get around that Hand. For the Lord your God has, in recent months, stayed enemy attacks upon this your nation. The Lord your God has stayed attacks upon His people Israel. The Lord your God has moved behind the scenes that cannot be spoken of in public, cannot be aired on news broadcasts. But the Lord has stayed the enemy and has stayed his attempts to destroy the liberties of those who enjoy the liberty of speaking of this Christ, of taking His message to the four corners of the earth. The Lord has stayed things in your personal life in recent weeks that you are not aware of because I will not always announce to you overtly and in a dramatic way what I have done for you. Just know that I am your beneficent Father, my eye is upon the sparrow that falls, so how much more is my eye upon you? Not only is my eye upon you but when I see certain things I stretch forth my Hand and I stay the enemy. I have stayed the enemy even this week against your nation, against Israel and against your household. And in future, look to me and rejoice because I am the Great God with a Great Hand and I stay the enemy in your behalf.

Influence Through Children
Influence Through Children
Through our children, our influence is extended into the future even after we have passed this life. Our children are a message that we send into the future. It is so very important for us, therefore, to be cognizantly,
purposefully working on the legacy that we will leave; not just monetarily but theologically and philosophically (Prov 17:6). Our children will carry into the future the volume or lack (compare 2K 17:41) of our value and belief system into the culture that they will function and have influence in. The degree of influence they have and the type of influence they have will be largely dependent upon our deposit in them.
“So these nations feared the Lord, yet served their carved images; also their children and their children’s children have continued doing as their fathers did, even to this day.” (2K.17:41)

Enlarge And Stretch Forth
It is this writer’s conviction that the term “them” of Isa.54:2 is with reference to the term “children” in v.1. “Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes; (Isa 54:2 KJV) The expectant (by
facilitation, not by accident) coming into place of those “children” and the increasing number of “them” is the reason of necessity to “enlarge, stretch, spare not, lengthen, and strengthen” (whether they be biological children or spiritual sons/daughters makes no difference). I believe it is with good reason that we count everyone within our sphere of influence as cause to enlarge our “tent” of edification/facilitation whether we are affectionately disposed or not. We must extend our influence through more than biological children to fulfill the mandate of Gen 1:28—”Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it.” Our spiritual children should outnumber our natural children.

The Degree Of Influence We Have
The Degree Of Influence We Have
Seasonally, individuals and entities must re-evaluate the type and degree of influence we have upon culture and adjust for the coming season (Gen 13:14-17; Acts 9:1-6; 10:11-15). Enlarge the 
place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes; (Isa 54:2 KJV) It is obvious (by consideration of God’s nature [creative, growth, maturity, increase] and by Scriptural principle) that God desires each of our spheres of influence to increase. It is also obvious that some degree of effort and participation on our part is expected by the terms used in v.2: enlarge, stretch, spare not, lengthen, strengthen. While I do realize that this portion of Scripture was written to Israel concerning the building up of Jerusalem, I do not discount it because it was also written and preserved for us today; and the nature and principles of our Lord are timeless (Rom 15:4; 1Co 10:11).
“And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; 15 for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever.” (Gen.13:14-15,NKJV)

YOUR SPHERE OF INFLUENCE
YOUR SPHERE OF INFLUENCE
You are not without influence (Gk.: “metron”- a sphere of influence). Each and every person, each and every entity (e.g., a church, an apostolic network, a training center) has
some degree of influence with some number of people. God will, at some point, in some manner, begin to emphasize the sphere of influence of a person and of a local house (church). He will begin to bring the type of influence and the degree of influence into our thinking and consideration so that He can enlarge that sphere for wider effectiveness.
“Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. (Isa.54:2, NKJV)

The Fruit Of Self-Government (Kathy)
Self-government keeps us from agreeing with powers of darkness that use emotions. Self-government keeps us from spiritual wickedness in high 
places that influences thoughts. The beginning basics are (1) we have to know right to recognize wrong and (2) we have to choose right to defeat wrong. Consistently choosing right is the pulse of self-government.
Man is built to control himself by choice. There are many self-disciplined and diligent people who display self-government and do not even believe in God. The point of difference we need to recognize is that self-government does not necessarily equal right government. Only if it originates in the Spirit of God, only if it is a fruit of His Spirit, can we be assured of right government. Only the fruit of His Spirit will bring His results through our lives.

Fruit That Overcomes Self-Destruction (Kathy)
I was praying for a lady who was incapacitated and went through months of emergency room runs, hospital stays and testing, but the doctors could not bring the sickness to resolve or even a clear diagnosis. As I was praying, the Spirit of God revealed what the doctors were looking for: they were
looking for her self-destruct button. Where is your self-destruct button? More importantly, why is it there? Is it embedded in disappointment, self-pity, deceit, desperation, selfishness, unforgiveness, bitterness, anger or guilt? Once your self-destruct button is pushed, can you recognize how you feel or how you feed destruction? Have you ever connected the dots to realize that agreement feeds destruction and agreement comes with every unkind word and action, every foul mood freely expressed, every dark habit or pattern and every self-justification when you are wrong?
Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit and it is a powerful expression of self-government, a powerful, non-carnal weapon to defeat enemy strategies and strongholds. Choices concerning our attitude, words and behavior take dominion eventually. Over time, every ruling force and condition (good or bad, healthy or destructive) gets in control through attitude, words and behavior, and all three begin with thoughts and feelings. The one-two punch that defeats self-destruction is: 1) recognize destructive feelings and discern dark thoughts, and 2) refuse to be controlled by them or behave as they dictate. Self-government becomes our weapon against self-destruction.

Choices Affect Others
Choices Affect Others (Kathy)
Whether we choose to live Spirit-led or self-absorbed, there is undeniable evidence or fruit of either choice. The fruit of the Spirit, the results of His presence and priority in our lives, is not just a good idea; it is essential for life and relationship. Fruit like goodness and kindness are not optional any day. It is not okay to go where you don’t have to be kind. It is dangerous 
to get used to living without affection, cheerfulness, calm delight and forbearing patience. We dare not go where self-control has no voice in our decisions and choices. It is not okay to live unrestrained, forcing your way in life and refusing to be sensitive to the Spirit of God because if you do, the long range results are bitter to the bite.
Leaving God out of our choices, we create a void within self. Actually we create a monster that can draw demons and destruction, and we can become a host to darkness that will affect our health, our lifestyle and every relationship we have. Covenant bonds like family and friends suffer our choices and our darkness. Wrong choices undermine us and get us out of position for purpose. Our place of authority on the wall of our sphere of influence is left wide open, leaving not only self, but everyone in our world vulnerable to destructive forces. People who live their own way without regard for wisdom or others don’t seem to realize that self-destruction is never limited to self. It is impossible to go away and privately self destruct. When has any suicide ever been a private matter that left no pain or problems for others and left no residue on other lives? Living self-absorbed is being out of position for purpose. Ultimately, living self-focused is bowing to limitation, living like a captive and self-destructing. The problem with wallowing in self-destruction is that its suffocating mud gets on everyone close.

Choosing To Be Led By The Spirit
Choosing To Be Led By The Spirit (by Kathy Gabler)
If we don’t choose to be led by the Spirit of God, we live our own way and get the opposite, meaning we cannot “escape the erratic compulsions of a law-dominated, (condemning) existence. It is obvious what kind of life develops out of trying to get your own way all
the time: repetitive, loveless, a stinking accumulation of mental and emotional garbage; frenzied and joyless grabs for happiness; paranoid loneliness; cutthroat competition; all-consuming-yet-never-satisfied wants; a brutal temper; an inability to love or be loved; divided homes and divided lives; small-minded and lopsided pursuits; the vicious habit of depersonalizing everyone into a rival; uncontrolled and uncontrollable addictions; ugly parodies of community. I could go on.” (Galatians 5 The Message) It doesn’t take a degree in logic to make a wise choice, and “since this is the kind of life we have chosen, the life of the Spirit, let us make sure that we do not just hold it as an idea in our heads or a sentiment in our hearts, but work out its implications in every detail of our lives. That means we will not compare ourselves with each other as if one of us were better and another worse. We have far more interesting things to do with our lives. Each of us is an original. (Galatians 5 The Message)
So, you’re it, and choosing to daily be led by the Spirit of God is essential if you do not want to waste or be robbed of your original, unique and once-in-a-lifetime destiny. There’s no passing the torch to someone who can stand-in and make choices for you or fix your calling and purpose and get the results you were born to accomplish. There are lives at stake beyond your own with the opportunities lost or wasted in your lifetime. The lives in your sphere of influence were snatched from destruction for a purpose. You dare not damage the destiny of others by stopping short of being who you were born to be, a son of God who is led by His Spirit.

Fruit-of-The-Spirit-Results (Kathy)
We may not always be able to see the root cause of sudden mood swings or inordinate needs or cycling itches that scratching doesn’t help
or those extreme emotions that seem to erupt in us, but we can learn to recognize their presence and influence, and we can learn to overcome them. The key is choosing to be led of the Spirit which will get us fruit-of-the-Spirit-results instead of frustration’s results in the coming year.
Rom.8:6 “For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace.”

Fruit, The New Year Essential

Fruit is healthy for the physical body, but we don’t benefit from it being beautifully displayed in the fruit bowl. It has to be eaten and ingested to become a part of us. Likewise we read about the fruits of the Spirit, but until they are evidenced in our lives we have an ideal rather than an impact. The fruits of the Spirit are not an optional dessert on the buffet of the Christian life. 
Neither are the fruits of the Spirit a spiritual nature that we struggle to display. The fruit of the Spirit is His nature and when we submit to and follow the Holy Spirit (in daily choices) we manifest His nature. Believer or non-believer, who doesn’t benefit from God bringing “gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard–things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely.” (Galatians 5 The Message)

He Is Still Captain
This encouraging word was given at Grace International yesterday: His name is Jeshua. His name is Joshua, His name is Captain. His name is Jehovah-Sabaoth, Lord of Hosts. Jehovah, Joshua, Lord of Hosts says unto His people today, “Come and join me in triumphal procession.
I am leading you in triumphal procession because I have defeated all of your enemies. I defeated certain of your enemies before they were even born. I defeated some of your enemies before there was even an institution or an entity for them to move within and for them to exist within. I have defeated entire entities. I have defeated entire nations, says the Lord. Come and join me in triumphal procession. Do not be like Gehazi who focused on the troops around the mountain. But be like the one the prophet called for, for their eyes to be opened and know that there are more with you than there are against you. I have defeated all of your enemies. If you take all of them and pile them up in one big pile, I have still defeated them no matter how big or how numerous. My name is Jeshua. My name is Joshua. I am still Captain of the Hosts of Israel. And I have defeated your enemies. So join me in triumphal procession with a shout of victory.

The name of the Lord is…
The name of the Lord is a Strong Tower.
In that name we defy all hostile assault. In that name we set up a blockade against all that is not life and all that is not blessing.
God has named Himself and has given us His names so that we may know how to depend upon Him in any situation. Those names help remind us that He is our Eternal Constant. (“I change not.”) Just the saying of those names is a praise unto Jahve. Blessed be the name of the Lord!
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the [consistently] righteous man [upright and in right standing with God] runs into it and is safe, high [above evil] and strong.” (Prov.18:10)

Previous restrictions are being removed and our awareness of possibilities and solutions for our family, nation and future will increase. Our awareness will increase so that we may participate and lead in the resolve of issues.
3-“For you will spread abroad to the right and to the left.
And your descendants will possess nations And will resettle the desolate cities.
4-“Fear not, for you will not be put to shame; And do not feel humiliated, for you will not be disgraced; But you will forget the shame of your youth, And the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more. (Isa.54:3-4, NASB)
“YOUTH”: when things were attempted but nothing was accomplished; this doesn’t necessarily refer to biological age but to the early attempts we made at what we thought was purpose.
Also refers to untimely words, foolish actions and decisions.
“WIDOWHOOD”: unproductive, unfruitful time; a widow did not bare children or increase family, but was known for suffering loss.
We will not be disgraced for we will not remember the shame and reproach and will therefore look for progress and victories through God’s grace.
DECLARE: “My awareness of possibilities and solutions is increasing and I will break out on the right and on the left and will not fear because I will no longer remember any shame.”

We live in this time in history because God ordained it so and He also ordained the days to come for His Name’s sake (Ps23:3;106:8;1Jn2:12;3Jn:1:7)
It is not our purpose in living to simply observe “the tide” of circumstances but to turn the tide. We do not live so we might observe history taking place but so we might make history.
Typically after someone shares about how they were powerfully used of God, someone will walk up afterwards and say something like, “Yes, but you are a full-time minister, pastor, evangelist, prophet etc., etc.” Title, T-shirt or cap doesn’t matter. The anointing and empowering One, the Holy Spirit is the same in every believer at any time in history.
The reason we do not speak with a British accent and send our taxes to London each April is because 1000’s of nameless people participated in the American Revolution and turned the tide for the nation. It could not have been done by the dozen or so people whose names made it into the history books.
Jahweh is no less faithful in this moment of history than He was in 2Co 4:9: “we know that God knows what to do; we’ve been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn’t left our side.”
“So teach us to number our days, that we may get us a heart of wisdom.” (Ps.90:12)
DECLARE: “I do not live so I might observe history taking place but so I might make history. I was born at the right time and will effectively impact the sphere of influence God has given me in my generation.”

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, [4395(Strong’s) propheteuo- to prophesy, to be a prophet, to speak forth by divine inspirations, to predict: 1) to prophesy, 
2) with the idea of foretelling future events pertaining especially to the kingdom of God, 3) to utter forth, to declare, a thing which can only be known by divine revelation, 4) to break forth under sudden impulse in lofty discourse or praise of the divine counsels; under like prompting, to teach, refute, reprove, admonish, comfort others, 5) to act as a prophet, to discharge the prophetic office.]
And your young [junior ranks] men shall see visions, [an appearance divinely granted] and your old [senior in rank] men shall dream dreams: [dream or vision seen in sleep].” Acts 2:17
So expect God’s impartation of prophecy, dreams and visions upon all flesh. His sovereign appointments will not regard the natural barriers of logic, age or gender. Also, it is of utmost importance that we expect our understanding to be opened so that we can heed the prophecies, dreams and visions that we receive from the Spirit’s outpouring!

Prophetic Gift Calls Us To Perseverance
When God gives a promise He gives a witness of the Holy Spirit in our hearts. He… put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come (2Co 1:22). We allow pressures and delay to smother the witness, of the Holy Spirit, to promise. When we are on our way to the fulfillment of promise and the wind is not at our backs, the tendency is to turn around and go back so that we are not 
opposed by the wind. Rowing with the wind is much easier than rowing against the wind. But winds of opposition will come from the enemy because he does not want the promise of God to be fulfilled in us. If it is fulfilled in us it will not only revolutionize our lives but it will also bless those around us. It will advance the Kingdom of God.
We need the prophetic gift around regularly strengthening, encouraging and comforting (1Co 14:3) because the receiving of promise from God does not prevent waves from coming over the side of the boat. But the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it (Mt 14:24). The fact that we have received a prophecy does not guarantee that the wind will be at our backs. The waves coming over the side do not have to sink us. The wind does not have to destroy us. Believe it or not, those things do not even have to discourage us. They should actually build into us determination. They should make us more determined to focus on the goal. Those who strengthen and encourage the people of God out of a prophetic gift keep us grounded in the Word and looking toward the goal.
