Cowering Chunk Of Crispy Fried Chicken?
KATHY GABLER—Cowering Chunk Of Crispy Fried Chicken?
Actually, persecution for righteousness sake is evidence that you are a Kingdom agent caught in the crossfire. The real target is a righteous deposit of God’s purpose in history. Now that’s not to minimize persecution or say that being in the crossfire is fun or easy. It wasn’t easy for Esther when she was caught in such crossfire, but she did not throw up her hands and take on a victim-attitude. Persecution does not equal “victim” or “martyr.” We should not automatically just cower. Esther didn’t, and we can learn from her. The opposite of being a victim is to fight wisely, activate God’s countermeasures and get a God-strategy. Daniel and the three Hebrews were persecuted in the crossfire of King Darius’ corrupt court, but a victim would have been a lion’s lunch or crispy fried chicken in the fiery furnace.

The Battle Ahead
Melissa Gabler—What I keep seeing is the last stretch of earning our stripes for, dare I say it, the battle ahead. There is battle coming, but our training and equipping is gearing us up to take it head on. I just have such a sense that even though the battle will be hot we will experience it like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, “… saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them. Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, who had sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him,” (Daniel 3:27-28) In order to be like these fire-walkers we need to stay in our lane so the finishing touches can be put in place.

What Does the Coming Generation Anticipate?
What will the coming generation anticipate? What are they anticipating now and who was it that set them up to anticipate it? The coming generation
will anticipate something. One of the biggest favors we can do the coming generation is to build anticipation into them. Let’s build into them anticipation for the intervention of God, anticipation to see God do something no previous generation has ever seen. Before Daniel came along, who had ever seen anyone walk out of a lion’s den? Before Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came to town, who had ever seen three guys walk out of a fiery furnace without even so much as smelling like smoke? Let’s get our chins up off of our chests and allow our eyes to look upward into the Limitless One. ”Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.” (Ps.24:7, KJV) Every time people speak of tragedy and hopelessness, let us say to the coming generation, “But God….”. Let’s help them keep their anticipator alive and well and functioning at peek capacity. Let’s charge it up at every opportunity!

(This is an excerpt from an article by Kathy Gabler entitled “Offense: The Kingdom In Action” in which she talks about the advantage of moving from merely a defensive strategy to an offensive strategy.)
