May God Give Health

May the Lord cause your number of doctor visits to decrease. May He give health to your teeth, your bones and your mind, and may the number of hours you rest at night increase.  “A calm and undisturbed mind and heart are the life and health of the body, but envy, jealousy, and wrath are like rottenness of the bones. (Prov.14:30, Amp)

April is For Embracing the Promises of God

Meme by Melissa Gabler. A photo she took on her trip to Ireland. (Powerscourt Estate)

The month of APRIL IS FOR EMBRACING THE PROMISES OF GOD and clinging to them, in spite of present appearances, while knowing that the Lord God is faithful to His promises. ”Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who has fulfilled with His hands what He spoke with His mouth… (2Chron.6:4, NKJV)   “being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. (Rom.4:21, NKJV)

That Was Then But This is Now

“They” are still saying, “That was then but this is now. What God did then, doesn’t happen now.” Jesus preached to 5,000 at one time. Reinhard Bonnke preaches to hundreds of thousands at a time. In one service, entire cities are accepting Jesus Christ as Savior. On one island in the South Pacific, the king and his prime minister help oversee Gospel ministries and the training of ministers which are being sent to Europe. Those who say “that was then but this is now” don’t really mind quoting the old hymn which speaks of God having worked in “mysterious ways, His wonders to perform” but they are not inclined to trust Him to work in mysterious ways now. However, God is working in mysterious ways and performing wonders quite out of the ordinary in the earth, in this hour. In this hour God will have a supernatural people who are no strangers to His supernatural ways.

Jesus Doesn’t Pull Backward

The Lord Jesus doesn’t pull people backward. With His Word and Holy Spirit, He propels them forward. People, memories and failures tend to pull us backward. Apostle Paul said (Phil.3:13), “I forget those things which are behind and I reach forward to those things which are ahead.” It is very difficult to reach forward intending to grasp the prize when we have armfuls of past clutter preventing progress. That “reach forward” in v.13 means to reach beyond the places we have stopped in the past. We will no longer stop at the roadblocks and barriers we have yielded to in the past. Paul said, “I press toward the goal in Christ Jesus.” We are praying you discover daily that you are forgetting what is behind so you can press toward the goal. The Ordinary Ordained by God

Something very ordinary ordained by God to be applied in a unique circumstance turned the tide for a nation. Though the giant loomed large in the valley (1Sam.17:3-4), God had sent a shepherd boy over the top of the hill for the purpose of going down into that valley to contradict the giant. An army did not take out the giant. A small smooth stone from an ordinary shepherd’s sling was all it took to end the giant’s career. The faithful God of Israel still does business the same way He always has.

I See That

I see that! When we hear something or read something and say “I see that” are we “seeing” only in the sense of ocular recognition or mental consent, or are we seeing in the sense of perception for the purpose of application? Does that simply mean that we can see that they have stated a truth or does it actually mean that we can see the value of that truth for our lives and are willing to act on it?  Prov.1:1-4 (21st CKJV) ”The Proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel: to know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding to receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, judgment, and equity; to give subtlety to the simple, and to the young man knowledge and discretion.”

JESUS Who Endured the Cross

As the people of God assemble today may they fix their eyes on Jesus who endured the cross, despised the shame and is now set down at the right hand of the throne of God. May they know that Jesus rose from the dead because there was more to come.   “Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,  2 FIXING OUR EYES ON JESUS, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”  (Heb.12:1-2, NAU)
