What of the New Year? — The Path of Life
May the Lord prosper you in the path of life that He has ordained for you in 2013. May He show you the life He has placed in that path for you and may you impart life in that ordained path. And when you have gone down that path this year, there will be many who will never be the same because you are a bearer of His life which is redemptive. Joy to you all year.
“You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.” (Ps.16:11, Amp)

What of the New Year?–The Unexpected Positive
What of the New Year?–The Unexpected Positive
It would seem that typically when “unexpected” is mentioned our minds tend to go toward the negative. BUT Jahweh is the God of the unexpected positive: grace when we don’t expect it, mercy when we don’t expect it, a Hand up and out when we don’t expect it. (Acts 12:5-16; “they were astonished”)
May the Lord give you unexpected surprises that delight your heart in 2013.
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1Cor.2:9)

What of the New Year? — Thoughts, Plans & Inventions
What of the New Year? — Thoughts, Plans & Inventions
The Psalmist declares he is aware that He is included in God’s thoughts. One of the meanings of “thoughts” (Jer.29:11) is “an invention.” God has a plan for you in 2013 and, if necessary, He will INVENT required elements to work together to get you to that goal that glorifies Him and serves His purposes. He is beneficent and He is creative.
“thoughts”: a device, a plan, a purpose, AN INVENTION (Thayer)
“For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.” (Jer.29:11, Amp)

Eye Shall Be Single
This is the day the Lord has made so…
I will rejoice and be glad and my eye shall be single in it.
“Single” here is with reference to a piece of cloth having only one fold and infers a
“single-minded” devotion to God, with one’s heart set on God alone.
“The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.” (Matt.6:22)

Grow Strong In Spirit
This is the day the Lord has made so….
I will rejoice and be glad and grow strong in spirit and be filled with wisdom in it.
Jesus was born with purpose and so are we. From the beginning, He not only grew physically but in His spirit and in wisdom for what was to come.
One of our major goals for our children in 2013 should be to see them filled with the Spirit and to train them in godly wisdom.
“And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace (favor and spiritual blessing) of God was upon Him.” (Lk.2:40}

Discussing The Rock
What percentage of the minutes and hours of conversation over the last week did you spend discussing and describing the things that seem to be threatening the nation and the church? After calculating that, then calculate what percentage of time was spent discussing Jesus the Rock. I am certainly not advocating we stick our head in the sand. Being informed is wisdom but negative headlines are not supposed to be the major focus and attention-getter for the child of God. David mentioned his enemies in the Psalms but they were not his major focus. He said things like, “From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, the Lord’s name is to be praised” (Ps 113:3) That would take up a great deal of time.
Emails and Face Book posts definitively describe “this” that is expected to happen and “that” which is said to be inevitable. But before any of those persons or entities existed, Jehovah God said, “I lay in Zion a Chief Cornerstone” (1Pe 2:6). Jesus is the Rock and He is greater than anything that opposes you, your family, your church, your community or this nation.

Chosen By God
Chosen By God
God has chosen the Rock, Jesus (1Pe.2:4). The Father chose Jesus to endow Him and to position Him for the benefit of all men. The Bible proclaims that if a man build his house on sand rather than the Rock, that his house will be destroyed by the winds and waves that assault it. Those who “disallow” Him (1Pe.2:4) do not have the solid safety and benefits of the Rock. The only safe place to be is on the Rock (Mt 7:24). He is our solid, unfailing benefit in all of life, especially stormy circumstances. If our hopes are in any person or entity, we stand upon the sand that cannot support a house. Just because there is a lack of righteousness and integrity in certain persons who hold public office does not mean there is nothing solid for us to get our feet on. The Stone does not move; the Stone is the One that moves the image of opposition (Dan.2:34).

Disallowed By Men
“To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious… “ (1Pe.2:4) It simply does not matter how many or who has “disallowed” the Living Stone. What does matter is that He “is chosen of God” (1Pe 2:4). The result, however, has been nations chafing under the friction of rejecting The Stone and His righteousness. When The Stone is “disallowed” (rejected) then men will fill the void with self-seeking impostors and redemption of men and society are far from us. There is great hope in this verse, for Peter informs us that only men have disallowed The Stone. It was inventive, determined men at Babel who were easily overcome with the simple fact of the confusing of their language so that their intricate agenda was brought to a screeching halt. Not even Goliath could remain standing before the diminutive David (OT type of the NT Christ). The Rock, Christ Jesus is prevailing and as His people stand on Him, they shall prevail against storm and wind no matter who has “disallowed” Him.
Not only is He chosen of God but He is “precious,” i.e., when you have calculated His value and His person, there is more that you have not yet realized. We shall yet see more and more of who this Rock is and what this Rock does.

Counsel Against The Rock
Counsel Against The Rock
When the people groups of earth got together and decided to build a tower unto heaven to gain access to the place of God’s rule, they suddenly found themselves in the middle of a pointless quandary. All God had to do to totally stop their progress was confuse their language. At that point, all their agreement and unity ceased to exist and they dispersed without laying a single brick more. The Tower of Babel became an empty memorial to man’s vain attempts to
counsel together against the purposes of God. Jehovah has purposes in this time in history and in spite of people groups counseling against Him, The Rock will prevail. And concerning the purposes and abilities of Mighty Jehovha, Babel was not a one-time fluke. He can do it again!
2 The kings of the earth take their stand
And the rulers take counsel together
Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,
3 “Let us tear their fetters apart
And cast away their cords from us!”
4 He who sits in the heavens laughs,
The Lord scoffs at them. (Ps.2:2-4, NAS)

The Living Stone
In Daniel’s writing, he sees Jesus as The Stone (Dan.2:35). By the time we get to the New Testament, Peter is referring to Jesus as the “Living Stone.” To whom coming, [as unto] a LIVING STONE, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, [and] precious… (1Pe 2:4). It is most interesting to note that the only ones “disallowing” the Stone is “men.” In Psalm 2 when “kings of the earth set themselves against the Lord” and “rulers took counsel together” against the Lord, God sat far above them in the heavens untouchable and laughed at those men who had no power to touch the all-powerful God of the heavens. It simply does not matter how many or who has “disallowed” the Living Stone. What does matter is that He “is chosen of God”.

JESUS is the Same Rock He’s Always Been
JESUS is the Same Rock He’s Always Been

As I considered all the woes in the world and everything that seems to be out of kilter in our nation and considered all the discouraging emails and endless Face Book posts, I began to pray earnestly for an answer. There readily rose up in my spirit this message: Jesus is the same Rock He has always been.
Opposition to truth and life, the shaking of “everything that can be shaken,” and the difficulties of going onward in a shifting, god-denying culture cannot wear away one grain or one ounce of the Solid Rock we stand on. Jesus is the same Rock Israel stood on in the wilderness, the same Rock Jacob stood on and the same Rock that weathered everything with Apostle Peter and launched him into the miracles of the Book of Acts.

Weapons Formed FOR Us
Weapons Formed FOR Us (Kathy)
No matter how many men or devils form weapons against us, our God has an arsenal of weapons already formed FOR us! One such weapon is His vengeance. Rom 12:19 “Beloved, never avenge yourselves,
but leave the way open for [God’s] wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” (Amp) He said He would repay. That makes me smile even as I write it because I realize that we can trust God to take care of business, and He will be right on time and He won’t forget any details.
Another awesome weapon in God’s arsenal is HIS TIMING. “For such a time as this,” is a description of His timing as is “in the fullness of time” and “in due time.” When God’s timing intersects with our circumstances and relationships, it becomes the ultimate weapon to head-on defeat all comers. In due time, the details have been aligned to open the door for the supernatural to prevail over the natural. God’s timing is like the fourth man in the fire, the fourth dimension that ignites an event with His presence and His power and His intent. I believe the dimension of His timing is about to be displayed wide-scale. The veil has been pulled back and the gloves are off as His Timing, the ultimate weapon, is revealed. It is TIME to pierce and pull down strongholds and prevail over changelessness, delays and despair in our lives, in our families, in our spheres of influence and in our nation. The reason to war is to win!

God Sees The Weapons Being Formed
God Sees The Weapons Being Formed (Kathy)
The fact is that our God sees a weapon being formed whether we do or not. Therefore, He prepares and equips us to defeat that weapon. At the point that we realize this, we literally neutralize the long-term effect of an attack and turn the situation toward resolve. When a customized weapon shows up, we need not waste time denying it in the name of faith, but neither do we abide it. For reasons
unknown, there is a glitch in some people’s thinking that if we cannot deny it, then we cannot defy it. That prevalent thinking is erroneous and dangerous thinking. No matter what the conditions or how many battles break out, we must defy until we defeat and we must allow no prisoners. We place our agreement strategically and emphatically upon the character and power and word of God and allow no creeping “buts” concerning statistics or age or personal history or deserving or “what if?”
Ps.33:18-19
Watch this: God’s eye is on those who respect him,
the ones who are looking for his love.
He’s ready to come to their rescue in bad times;
in lean times he keeps body and soul together.
20-22 We’re depending on God; he’s everything we need.
What’s more, our hearts brim with joy
since we’ve taken for our own his holy name.
Love us, God, with all you’ve got—
that’s what we’re depending on. (The Message)

Preparation Against Weapons
Preparation Against Weapons (Kathy)
Our daughter, Melissa, was recently awakened at 5:00 am on a Sunday morning with a terrible pain in her thigh. Something was biting her. She was already conditioned to panic with a memory root of
having been bitten in her sleep before by a brown recluse spider. Added to that, she had killed a scorpion in her house three weeks earlier. So conditioned, she jumped up in a frantic search to find her attacker. Suddenly, however, the Spirit of the Lord said, “Don’t you think I have prepared your body to beat the weapon I saw being formed against you?” She then remembered the downloads the Holy Spirit had been giving her in recent weeks concerning foods and specific nutrients to take. Her panic turned to peace as quickly as it had sprung up, and the bite lost its threat. She found the culprit, dead from her slap, and the bite was a tiny dot by midmorning.
“Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet.” (Eph.6:13)

HOW ARE WEAPONS FORMED AGAINST US?

HOW ARE WEAPONS FORMED AGAINST US?
A cunning enemy attacks an individual by FORMING a weapon. A formed weapon is not standard issue with off-the-shelf ammo. It is formed to be uniquely effective on an individual or a set of individuals. The most formidable weapon is one in your historic files; a weapon that already has a memory root within you. Past battles form memory roots, experiences with a particular pain or dysfunction form a memory root, past threats form a memory root, bloodline patterns form a memory root, etc. This customized weapon is formed to hit patterns or experiences because we are more likely to recognize it and unconsciously bow or agree with something familiar. We cannot deny experience or bloodline issues; therefore we can easily or passively agree with past pain and dysfunction by default or follow a memory root to subconscious agreement. So, cunning attackers look for vulnerable memory roots.
“Fear not, for you shall not be ashamed; neither be confounded and depressed, for you shall not be put to shame. For you shall forget the shame of your youth, and you shall not [seriously] remember the reproach of your widowhood any more.” (Isa.54:4, Amp)

Warfare And Tipping Points
Warfare And Tipp
ing Points (Kathy)
In the old western movies, when the town was too conditioned to the reign of an old foe, the lone sheriff (governmental agent) had to fight him alone. The governmental agent, (the God-appointee to the situation), moved forward and equipped them through example, inspiration and direction. Then “the few” stepped up to unify and finally brought the tipping point. The eventual key to victory was when enough of the townspeople and landowners decided to defy evil and stood together.
However, realistically, the tipping point can take a long time to develop because victims are so conditioned to corruption or fear of bucking it. During the time it takes to unify a corporate tipping point, unfortunately, the government agent more often than not becomes the target of rulers of darkness who hold tenure. While being targeted by the enemy, there will be attacks on relationships, circumstances and health to the point that it can seem like the real challenge is keeping the governmental agents ALIVE for the mandate!
How in the cat-hair do we fight for a corporate cause when we are fighting to survive individually? First, we must take hope that God has positioned gifts and strengths geographically and relationally for corporate wars ahead of time, and we must believe corporate agreement will defeat customized weapons as well as enemies with tenure that are attempting to protect ungodly strongholds. Secondly, we have to be confident that being the target does not mean we have to just take a right hook and then wait helplessly for a left jab every time the enemy gets upset. We are not a victim nor a God-authorized target. Once that is settled in us we can fight with confidence and win through time and perseverance. (Mt.24:13;Heb.3:14)

The Real Need
The Real Need
Is the real need of this nation a great politician or a real church? Politicians would hardly ever get a mention in the news media if the church was being and doing everything Jesus was and did when He was on earth. Jesus was shaking the present religious and political scene when He was recorded to say, “All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and earth has been given to Me. Go then…” (Matt.28:18-19a) and “…just as my Father has sent Me forth, so I am sending you.” (Jn.20:21) Key factors we must be aware of: “all authority” and “just as” and “go then.”
One of the major factors that got Jesus crucified was that He was getting more press than Caesar. People were following and clamoring after Jesus because of His acts which so effectively represented the Father. When Jesus confronted and contradicted darkness through redemptive acts it got the nation’s attention. After consistently revealing the Father in this manner, there was a snowballing effort to make Jesus king. Simply put, Jesus was more representative of life and productivity than was Caesar with all his financial resources and all his millions of citizens. Needs were met and problems solved that Caesar had no capacity for.
When the church is truly the church, in all its God-ordained function and authority, and takes her place in culture, culture will place so much attention on the life and productivity that is flowing out of the church (please refer to the entire Book of Acts) that politicians will be reported and lauded very little. In the book of Acts the church was getting more press than were government officials. “…These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also.” (Acts 17:6) No politician or governmental entity was being given credit for “turning the world upside down” but the disciples of Jesus that He gave His authority to and the disciples He sent out. Jesus and His disciples (count them: 12) impacted the mighty Roman world and jolted its foundation so, that He and they were deemed a national threat. It was not because they directly threatened Rome or Caesar but because they acted in an authority that, because of its results, was obviously a higher government than that of Rome.
Rather than Christians and the church intimating a dependency upon particular politicians and government in general (as has obviously been the case since 2007), we should be displaying the results of the government of heaven. The authority of the government of heaven is not the ability to get particular politicians strategically placed but it is to do the works of Christ that make the need for such desired persons and positions much less necessary. (Matt.11:12; Eph.2:10)

Fighting Wisely
Discerning the intent of a particular weapon can reveal a strategy for its defeat. An example is that many weapons seem personal when you are actually one of many being targeted. An individual can get overwhelmed by being caught in the crossfire of a bigger, corporate target. Like the Untouchables, who were governmental agents caught in the crossfire between the purpose of a nation and the corruption trying to undermine it, they took personal hits but the war was much bigger than the individuals. Their mandate or calling and purpose put them in the crossfire. In addition to persevering in spite of their personal hits, the strategic elements that made the Untouchables untouchable, or undefeated, were purity of motive, skill, and corporateness. (2Co.10:3-4)

Yet Many Shouted
Yet Many Shouted
May the Lord grant, by His Holy Spirit, a cry of praise and victory to be heard coming from the assembling of His people today for it will set the enemy to flight. May the enemy of the church and Israel be scattered in seven directions.
10 “When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the priests stood[a] in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the Lord, according to the ordinance of David king of Israel. 11 And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord: “For He is good, For His mercy endures forever toward Israel.” Then all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid. 12 But many of the priests and Levites and heads of the fathers’ houses, old men who had seen the first temple, wept with a loud voice when the foundation of this temple was laid before their eyes. Yet many shouted aloud for joy, 13 so that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people, for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the sound was heard afar off.”
The sound of the shout of victory was heard for God was in the midst of Israel working presently. The sound covered the cries and shouts of agony over what had been and what had been lost in the past. “YET many shouted aloud for joy.” (v.12b) It seems that the shouting and weeping over the past was as loud as the shouting over what was progressing in the present.
But the present generation was able to give forth the shout of victory that God was working presently in the midst of His people. Thank God there was a heart in the present generation that openly received the present work and presence of God. It stands to reason that a shout of victory would witness more of a heart for war and victory to an enemy than the sound of bemoaning the past or agonizing over what was lost… “For His mercy endures forever” (v.11).
The older generation couldn’t move with what God was doing in the present because they were bemoaning the fact that what was happening now was not the same as the original structure.
The generations must join forces in expectation for what God is doing presently and what God shall do and know that Jehovah will not move without His sound foundation in place in any generation. “YET many shouted aloud for joy.”

Removing The Stinger
The most common way to defuse a weapon from within is by pulling the stinger out of our emotions. When we pull the emotions out of memories of upsetting events, conversations, incidences and experiences, it is like taking the stinger out of a wasp wound. Once the stinger is removed, the pain can begin to fade and the wound begins to heal. Sometimes we must remove stingers from more than memories. We must also remove the emotions from the wound to our self-image. Self-image cannot become healthy unless stingers are removed and resolved. Emotion can be the stinger in our opinion of others. Emotion can be the stinger in our thought patterns. The power of emotion is that it commands attention. Emotion calls for agreement and expression which in turn sustains it and perpetuates its fire. Emotion affects our mind and body and demands expression through thoughts and health, which in turn affect our lifestyle and relationships. Emotion must be brought to resolve or its demands for expression continue. Resolve will only come through change of mind or heart. The defusing of a weapon rooted in emotion boils down to repentance or forgiveness.

WEAPONS FORMED WITHIN
WEAPONS FORMED WITHIN
Realizing that trouble is not always just a common venture of life, but rather a customized weapon, can be the first challenge in the war of embracing promise. It is easy for pain and problems to demand our focus and become a pattern and a norm, so it is essential that we realize our patterns and norms themselves can be weapons formed against us. Our own life issues can snare us over and over as they cycle through our lifetime. It is essential that we recognize weapons so we can make conscious efforts to defuse them.
