Winning War or Merely Surviving?

KATHY GABLER–The key difference between winning war and merely surviving is our beliefs and attitudes, and both start in our thinking. That’s why God was trying to change Judah’s thinking and focus (Hag.1:5-9). Rebuilding the temple would change their future. Rebuilding the temple would set their priorities in order and break the cycle they were in. Rebuilding the temple was about vision and purpose. When we have vision of a future that is different, better and beyond today’s limitations, we can muster the passion and zeal to take ground and get to change.

June is for Taking Ground

THE MONTH OF JUNE IS FOR TAKING GROUND: (1) Taking ground where it was lost or never gained. We will be taking ground from (2) failed relationships, from (3) failed attempts to reach goals, and from (4) ground we once held but the enemy stole.  Perhaps, as sons/daughters of God, we could (in principle) claim a promise made to Israel and walk according to the Word of God. ”And I will not again remove the foot of Israel from the ground that I have designated to your fathers, if only they will keep on doing everything that I have commanded them, the whole law, statutes, and judgments from the hand of Moses.” (2Chron.33:8, MEV)

Taking Ground

StandwithswordIf marriage statistics are stalking yours or if your finances are boiling down to coins in a can or if you have been hit with an undeniable diagnosis, lift your head and CHOOSE LIFE, no matter how difficult it is because the Word says: it is not too difficult for you, (Deut 30:11), it isn’t too much for you, it’s not out of your reach.  The word is very near you, in your mouth, in your mind and in your heart.  You can do this.  Deut 30:20 says to CHOOSE LIFE by loving the Lord your God, by obeying His voice and by holding fast to Him.  That same verse tells us why, so that we and our descendants may live long in the land which we possess.  Choosing life is taking ground.  We take acreage out of every cocoon of circumstances that we overcome.  We gather real-estate that becomes inheritance for at least four generations as well as inspiration for all those that feel the ripple of our life!
