When considering a dream or vision, watch for symbolism. Symbolism is an object, person or action or event that represents something other 
than itself. If cats are talking or dogs are driving your car, you’re “not in Kansas anymore” and you’re not talking “literal.” Thankfully, we do not have to be experts on symbolism to discover what something symbolizes. We can find out what a symbol represents through prayerfully brainstorming it or researching it until we find an option that bears witness concerning the dream. (By the way, when you do get understanding about a symbol, record it. It is likely to become part of your dream language or dream vocabulary and it will usually have the same significance in future dreams.) A good friend of mine had a strange dream and could not stop thinking about it. She said, “I’ve been asking the Lord what He’s saying, but I don’t have an interpretation.” In her dream she was in a hospital maternity ward. There was an infant she did not know but she felt concern and 
responsibility for the baby. When she went to change the baby’s diaper, she realized this baby was pregnant and about to give birth. She frantically sought out help but the nurse was too busy with other patients. She woke up with a sense of frantic concern and urgency that lingered for days and she desperately sought the Lord to understand what He was saying.
Extreme and strange dreams sometimes seem so far out of our control that it is easy to conclude they are not natural and therefore must be SUPER-natural in source. We then assume God is the one that is saying something but don’t realize His silence is saying something, “It is not me talking.” The frustration gets thicker because we cannot imagine how such a strange dream experience could come up from within us! It is a good thing at this point to look at the dream again and dissect it. (Seventh excerpt from Kathy’s article “Considering Dreams and Visions”. It is a good thing to be reminded on one special day of the year that it is our full time occupation every day (while going out, while being out and while coming in) to give thanks to the LORD for goodness is not just an attribute, it is what God is and He can be nothing else. Let there be giving of thanks (in both speaking and singing) to Jahveh, who is most gracious. “It is a good and delightful thing to give thanks to the Lord, To sing praises to Your name, O Most High” (Ps.92:1, Amp)

A while back I walked into the kitchen and I said to Kathy, “That smells like Thanksgiving!”. As I walked in, I experienced a wide range of sensory connections with Thanksgiving. The smell of spices and basting meat and the odors of baking coming out of the oven filled my senses. But I also began to hear things. As memories of Thanksgivings-come-and-gone stirred in my mind, I could hear the sounds of those gatherings, those loved 
ones, those children, those songs, that worship—in my memory. Kathy couldn’t hear any of it but I could hear many things all at once. I had to just stand there for a minute or two, not focusing on anything in the room but looking with my memory into those sights and sounds that had been cherished and stored away in valuable files of my heart. Then, even as I write now, hot tears filled my eyes and my heart raced up at the peace and joy and delight all those sounds and people in my memory brought to me. I didn’t even realize that I had tucked those precious memories away so many years ago. But the loving atmosphere, the loving people, the lovely ambiance and delicious foods all impacted my senses then for a delightful, sensory and welcome release now. No camera could have accomplished what those pleasant experiences wrought, for they were drawn up out of the well of cherished ones and cherished things in my heart. And for a brief time they were all there, all real and all so lovely once again. I am so thankful for a rich heritage, deeply meaningful relationships and for cherished memories that still impact me today. May this Thanksgiving bring to you sights and sounds and smells that pleasantly soothe you and heal you, and may they all bring you to a fresh place of rest in our Lord. Jer 17:9, says the heart is a puzzle no one can figure out, but some of those puzzle pieces can show up in our dreams. Memories you have never 
remembered before can suddenly be a dream video, and that can be the puzzle piece that solves a troubling in your heart-thinking. Our heart-thinking is crucial because it affects all our life and all our relationships, Pro 23:7, “For as he thinks within himself, so he is.” Therefore, self-to-self dreams are very important because the scripts of those dreams reveal what is affecting or influencing our thoughts and emotions and senses and moods and attitudes. As the people of God assemble today, may they be aware and encourage one another and embrace the fact that God-of-the-Angel-Armies is acting in accordance with His plans and purposes and He is on His throne of authority and power and He is bringing His agenda forward while He enables His people to speak and act to His glory. “God-of-the-Angel-Armies, who is like you, powerful and faithful from every angle? So often we needlessly worry about things that will never come to pass. We then begin to regulate our lives according to those perceived possibilities. Like the disciples, when water is coming over the side of the boat, we tend to forget Jesus is in the boat with us. No matter where the boat goes or what assails it, Jesus is going to be assailed as well. We also tend to forget what He has already promised: Let us go over to the other side (Mk.4:35).

Self-to-Self dreams can clean house by flashing scenes from our life into dreams so we can gather and toss “thought-clutter” and have a clean 
start the next day. Scientists and doctors have proven these kind of dreams are a nightly reset that de-clutters the mind and de-stresses the mind. Since stress is the starting point for many, if not most health issues, the ability to dream self-to-self is healthy. The Hebrew word for dream is chalam (khay lem), which means to strengthen or restore to health or facilitate recovery. Any way you look at it, dreaming is a blessing from the Lord. Even nightmares or upsetting dreams or bizarro dreams can be a positive because they bring things stored in our core closet out to the living room where we can be aware of them and we can confront them for relief or resolve. From the moment that we were conceived in the womb, God began to draw us to the fulfillment of the destiny He had in mind for each of us. Our 
sovereign God puts within His purpose for us a certain “gravity pull” which causes all things to work together to get us to the fulfillment of that purpose. God will get us to purpose and to a satisfying sense of fulfillment if we do not allow strong “gravity pull” from opposing and distracting forces to divert us. When considering a dream, knowing whether a dream is from God or not may help bring clarity. Sometimes we figure out in hindsight that a dream was from God, but it is still a valuable insight for future reference. If a dream is from God, it is a God-to-Man communication, revelation, realization or confirmation coming down to us. If a dream is a self-to-self communication it is coming up from our heart or core to get information and conditions up into our mind-awareness. There was one grandson Athaliah did not kill. Jehoshaba saw what was coming down and hid Josia in the temple of God (2K 11:2). May God 
raise up many Jehoshabas in this hour with courage to protect what Athaliah wants to prevent. Josia was hidden in the temple for six years. Six is the number of man. He did not become king until the marks of man upon him had been exposed to the presence of God and the teaching of God’s word. There are some who might think it strange to keep a child hidden away in the house of God for six years. Some might think that he would be a weirdo because he had not been out in the world “living a normal life.” But when he came forth, he came forth as king.

The Holy Spirit sometimes gives you a word of wisdom which reveals a dream’s message. However, it is just as fulfilling to get to the 
message, meaning and purpose through the process of prayerfully searching them out. We can sit at the Lord’s feet and lean against His knee and ponder the pieces of a dream. Sometimes we don’t even have to completely dismantle the dream to get the gist of it, but it if it does require more effort, then we research the Bible and reference books and friends until the concepts connect and open our understanding. God created dreams and visions to communicate and He will certainly help us get to understanding. (Third excerpt from Kathy’s article “Considering Dreams and Visions”.)

Perhaps you have experienced how the Holy Spirit sometimes gives you a word of wisdom which reveals a dream’s message, meaning and 
purpose all at once. It is like a light suddenly coming on or subtitles coming across the scenes. I love it when God does that, as was the case recently. On a three-way call with intercessors, a lady told her dream about a friend who had just been notified he had an aggressive cancer. The dreamer was surprised because her friend didn’t even look sick. In fact he looked in the peak of health and fitness. As she told the dream, I heard, “It is not physical cancer. It is bitterness that is targeting him, but has not successfully overtaken him.” God revealed an assignment and a call to intercession through word of wisdom revealed by the Spirit. (Melissa Gabler) The initial hit from the enemy might require you to go on the defense, but you never stay there. I will explain this in a tactical way. I have been taking self-defense classes for over four years. One of my instructors recently said, “We teach you to defend 
yourself one time. We will never teach you to stay in a defensive position. You must counter, control, and finish the fight.” Well, my goodness. What strategy! After you defend yourself one time from your enemy’s attack you then strike back with the weapons and skill God has given you. You can’t stay just in the defensive position. You propel forward because He already set up your counter measures and you are well armed, and able! What are your counter measures? Number one: Scripture. Number two: your Holy Spirit-breathed prophetic words. Other than that, whatever God has personally set up for you. Ask Him to show you and open your eyes to see! Don’t get bogged down in the fear of it. Look for His provision because it is already there. Isaiah 54:17-“no weapon formed against you shall prosper” is not an afterthought. It is solid forethought!

When considering a dream or vision, the goal is communication. Understanding the way you dream and the language that may be unique to your dreams, is equipping for life. This “understanding” is a major part of “having an ear to hear”. You may already understand most of your dreams and already know when they are from God or for a God-purpose, so your only challenge may be figuring out how to follow up or walk them out in real life. The scripture says. “These signs will accompany those who believe” (Mk.16:17): ALL BELIEVERS can cast out demons. ALL BELIEVERS can speak 
with tongues. ALL BELIEVERS can walk in God’s Authority over every obstacle. ALL BELIEVERS can lay hands on the sick and have them recover. So, WHY DON’T WE? It is time to consider things differently and change our minds. It is time to be CONVINCED God’s Word is TRUE. To BELIEVE means “to adhere to, trust in and rely on.” To the extent that we adhere to, trust in and rely on God and His Word is the extent to which we are convinced of His Authority and Power. If cats are talking or dogs are driving your car, you’re “not in Kansas anymore” and you’re not talking “literal.” Thankfully, we do not have to be experts on symbolism to discover what something symbolizes. We can find out what a symbol represents through prayerfully brainstorming it or researching it until we find an option that bears witness concerning the dream. (By the way, when you do get understanding about a symbol, record it. It is likely to become part of your dream language or dream vocabulary and it will usually have the same significance in future dreams.) As the people of God assemble today, may they “look to the hills from whence comes their help”. (Ps.121:1) May they look to the place where God’s presence is welcomed and enthroned. May they look to the place from whence come the messengers of peace whose feet are beautiful as they “bring good news, good news of good things and who announce salvation and who say, ‘Your God reigns’”. (Isa.52:7)
You don’t understand what a day can hold. With each breath you take things can change. You don’t understand what this day can hold. With the next breath you take life can change. With each step you take won’t you expect the impossible? Won’t you expect the answer? Don’t you understand that a day sits in the palm of His hand? With each breath you take life can change. So, won’t you get ready for the impossible at your door? Because each day sits in the palm of His hand and there’s nothing outside of His grasp, nothing too far for His eyes to see.

She frantically sought out help but the nurse was too busy with other patients. She woke up with a sense of frantic concern and urgency that lingered for days and she desperately sought the Lord to understand what He was saying.
It is a good thing to be reminded on one special day of the year that it is our full time occupation every day (while going out, while being out and while coming in) to give thanks to the LORD for goodness is not just an attribute, it is what God is and He can be nothing else. Let there be giving of thanks (in both speaking and singing) to Jahveh, who is most gracious. “It is a good and delightful thing to give thanks to the Lord, To sing praises to Your name, O Most High” (Ps.92:1, Amp)
ones, those children, those songs, that worship—in my memory. Kathy couldn’t hear any of it but I could hear many things all at once. I had to just stand there for a minute or two, not focusing on anything in the room but looking with my memory into those sights and sounds that had been cherished and stored away in valuable files of my heart. Then, even as I write now, hot tears filled my eyes and my heart raced up at the peace and joy and delight all those sounds and people in my memory brought to me. I didn’t even realize that I had tucked those precious memories away so many years ago. But the loving atmosphere, the loving people, the lovely ambiance and delicious foods all impacted my senses then for a delightful, sensory and welcome release now. No camera could have accomplished what those pleasant experiences wrought, for they were drawn up out of the well of cherished ones and cherished things in my heart. And for a brief time they were all there, all real and all so lovely once again. I am so thankful for a rich heritage, deeply meaningful relationships and for cherished memories that still impact me today. May this Thanksgiving bring to you sights and sounds and smells that pleasantly soothe you and heal you, and may they all bring you to a fresh place of rest in our Lord. remembered before can suddenly be a dream video, and that can be the puzzle piece that solves a troubling in your heart-thinking. Our heart-thinking is crucial because it affects all our life and all our relationships, Pro 23:7, “For as he thinks within himself, so he is.” Therefore, self-to-self dreams are very important because the scripts of those dreams reveal what is affecting or influencing our thoughts and emotions and senses and moods and attitudes. When considering a dream, knowing whether a dream is from God or not may help bring clarity. Sometimes we figure out in hindsight that a dream was from God, but it is still a valuable insight for future reference. If a dream is from God, it is a God-to-Man communication, revelation, realization or confirmation coming down to us. If a dream is a self-to-self communication it is coming up from our heart or core to get information and conditions up into our mind-awareness.
