The Whole Story

The whole Story is about JESUS. Since the whole Story is about Him, how can it all be winding down for the Church? “But Jesus answered them, My Father has worked [even] until now, [He has never ceased working; He is still working] and I, too, must be at [divine] work.” (Jn 5:17) When GroupMountainTopdoes the Father or the Son ever stop working? And… if They are working, is Their work any less than perfection of purpose no matter what the view from our angle? How could the Church Jesus is building be one generation away from extinction? How could the Bride that Jesus will marry go to her wedding in shame and defeat? How can the Head have a body that is defunct? Eph 5:27 shows us that His Church is a “glorious Church” and in Heb 12:27 it is the instrument of the Kingdom that cannot be shaken: 27 “The phrase ‘one last shaking’ means a thorough housecleaning, getting rid of all the historical and religious junk so that the unshakable essentials stand clear and uncluttered.  28  Do you see what we’ve got? An unshakable kingdom! And do you see how thankful we must be? Not only thankful, but brimming with worship, deeply reverent before God. For God is not an indifferent bystander.” (The Message) His Kingdom is an ever-increasing Kingdom, not an unwinding Kingdom. (Isa 9:7; Dan 2:35; Mt.13:33) God is wound up about His Son’s destiny and the destiny of JESUS is realized in the sons of the Kingdom and we will not stop short of the glory of God. “For [even the whole] creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God’s sons to be made known [waits for the revealing, the disclosing of their sonship].” (Rom 8:19, Amp)

Wound Up Not Down

Wound Up Not Down

God is wound up about His Son and His Son’s destiny, so how can things be winding down? Religion leaves us to think that this whole thing is about us and our getting to heaven. The reason God gets wound up about people is because of the part of His Son’s destiny that they play, not because He would simply rather have them playing a harp than roasting like a marshmallow. Paul shows this plainly: Eph 1:8  “Which He lavished upon us in every kind of wisdom and understanding (practical insight and prudence),  9  Making known to us the mystery (secret) of His will (of His plan, of His purpose). [And it is this:] In accordance with His good pleasure (His merciful intention) which He had previously purposed and set forth in Him, 10  [He planned] for the maturity of the times and the climax of the ages to unify all things and head them up and consummate them in Christ, [both] things in heaven and things on the earth. “(Amplified) It is descriptively put in the NASB in v.10 like this: …an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ.

The whole Story is about Him. Since the whole Story is about Him, how can it all be winding down for the Church? But Jesus answered them, My Father has worked [even] until now, [He has never ceased working; He is still working] and I, too, must be at [divine] work. Holy Spirit — The Enabler

Holy Spirit — The Enabler
We are not waiting for Jesus to bring His purpose into this earth with an inaugural dispensation because His purpose has never been absent from this earth (Jn5:17). What yet awaits is the manifesting of those who will receive the empowering that King Jesus sent after His ascension. What yet awaits is those who are blood-washed (Rev1:5) and Spirit-filled to go ahead and demonstrate the One who dwells within them (Jn14:17); knowing He dwells within to empower them so that they might not only confront powers of darkness but also contradict those powers with life, light and order (Acts26:18;1Pe 2:9). Those sons of God know that the Holy Spirit hasn’t come as a slip-n-slide to heaven but as the Enabler to break the hold of darkness upon men and systems (Jn17:15) through believers who are led by the Spirit (Rom8:14).
