Soul-Conflicts

KATHY — Soul-conflicts cause ulcers rather than faith. An “ulcer of the soul” is inflammation like agitation, offense, irritation, anger, fear, etc. A wound of the soul is from our history or experience. Neither of those is the starting place for effectual prayer because “ulcers” and wounds can keep us from seeing from God’s perspective. A timely example is that it cripples our faith to pray for our nation if we think God will not interrupt hell’s assignments against our nation. Since 2024 is part of our watch, we can anticipate God’s intervention in our nation this year as we pray and neutralize contradictions that influence daily.

Agreement and Effectual Prayer

KATHY—Agreement with God in intercession results in effectual prayer.  I believe we will see more and more results of effectual, strategic prayer through the remainder of this year in the Body of Christ because I believe more believers are convinced of the priority of praying — and praying in alignment with the will of God.  Like a construction crew, prayer builds a door or bridge for God’s will into this earthly realm and the more faith and agreement, the more comprehensive the access and impact of our awesome God.  So, may we be diligent to pray when the Holy Spirit prompts; for when God adds our small part to the others He stirs to prayer, the pieces come together into a God-design that brings His will to earth as it is in heaven.  Amen!

Spiritual War and Effectual Prayer

Kathy—Spiritual war requires effectual prayer.  Before James 5:16 talks about effectual prayer and its powerful results, it first says: “Confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed.”  In the previous verse 15, it said the prayer of faith heals the sick. Verse 16 says prayer after confession of your faults heals.  Evidently, verse 15 is healing of the body and verse 16 is healing of the heart (soul).  Verse 16 goes on to say: “The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.” (NASB) “Very strong is a righteous petition, being made effective.” (LITV) That tells us that effectual prayer that gets powerful results is prayer from a healed heart able to pray from a right motive and perspective.
