As You Go
“AS YOU GO” about your Father’s business today, this week and this year, what you accomplish will far exceed your abilities and learned knowledge. You will have delightful discoveries that your Father’s hand is working beyond your immediate awareness. You will be involved in His workings without having to launch yourself for a particular mission. He will use you and you will accomplish matters for His Kingdom “AS YOU GO”. You will accomplish more “accidentally” than the enemy will accomplish on purpose.

Curtain Rising
Though I started with the numbers and their significance (20 and 14 in Friday’s post), they were not the seed thought for this article, rather they were a confirming afterthought that caught my attention. The seed has been in my thoughts for several weeks because I have been seeing God’s hand moving behind a curtain on a stage. That has kept me anticipating the curtain rising in my understanding. Little by little an expectation has grown in me that we are about to see many things the Holy Spirit has been adjusting, rearranging, developing, redeeming, restoring and maturing. I don’t think there will be some colorful, feel good, fairytale play behind those curtains, rather a stage set with details that bring clarity and a God-perspective that equips us, literally showing us another way to think and perceive and prevail. I have a feeling the curtain will rise on insights that adjust our mode of operation and strategies and change our outcomes.

A Door Of Opportunity
In this year we can do what we could not do 100 years ago, even 50 years ago. We ministered to the Attorney General in another 
country while he was in the reception area of his president’s office waiting for his appointment. We spoke with him over the phone connection of a laptop computer.
We just received the annual report from our server for our blog page (martygabler.com). In 2012, 60 countries visited our blog page but in 2013, 78 countries visited our blog page. We receive regular hits from several Middle East countries including Israel.
Within minutes of their occurrence, we receive reports of miracles and miraculous intervention from the other side of the globe. We can put someone in another country inside 24 hours or put training materials there within a few days or put materials there in a few seconds by emailing files. This, indeed, is the day the Lord has made so. . . we will take advantage of every means and media to preach the Kingdom of God (Lk.4:43; 9:2; 9:60), for a wide door of opportunity is open to us in 2014.

Mature Son Results
In my last SEEC Magazine article I talked about twenty being the biblical number for expectancy, the kind of expectancy that 
comes at the point when battles are finally won or preparation finally brings results or the point when process yields fruit or the point when equipping fulfills its purpose. I believe the “20” in the coming year of 2014 re-emphasizes the focus on an expectation to see and walk in different results. Of course, we have been in the 2000’s for 13 years already, but the 14 in 2014, adds the significance of a time coming when “as it is in heaven” processes come to completion and are unshakably established in our lives. Putting all those concepts together raises my anticipation for the coming year, particularly concerning long term battles. I have an expectation that the completion of spiritual, God-orchestrated processes is going to equip us as sons of God and equip us to get to mature son results.

New Year For The Battle-Weary
If you are battle-weary, I believe the new year, 2014, will bring welcomed changes. I’m not implying battles will stop suddenly and everybody goes on vacation. I’m saying many long-term battles will end because you finally win. “Unrelenting disappointment leaves you heartsick, but a sudden good break can turn life around” (MSG, Pro 13:12). I expect some sudden good breaks in the year to come.

Enhanced Abilities
In 2014 God will enhance our abilities, talents and skills for the Kingdom, for income, for ministry—to be more effective. Ex 36:2 “Moses summoned Bezalel and Oholiab along with all whom GOD had gifted with the ability to work skillfully with their hands. The MEN WERE EAGER to get started and ENGAGE IN THE WORK.” The success of these men was not the simple fact that God had given them skills but that they were available and willing to apply them.

Efficient Demonstration
Let us commit ourselves to more efficient demonstration of the Kingdom this year. More Kingdom demonstration will require less debate. More fathers being fathers will require fewer jail cells. More exemplary lifestyle will require less correction. More redemptive action will require fewer words.

Creative Insights In 2014
In 2014 God is giving us loving and creative insights into impacting people’s lives. People in this present culture are not 
wondering whether or not they will go to heaven or hell if they die, they are concerned whether they have a purpose and what they will do if they continue to have to deal with present moral and cultural challenges. God will speak to us about what He is concerned about in a person’s life while steering us away from pet peeves (religious pet peeves and pet peeves formed from our family paradigms) so that we can effectively impact them with His love and compassion.
**Live an exemplary life among the natives so that your actions will refute their prejudices. Then they’ll be won over to God’s side and be there to join in the celebration when he arrives. (1Pe 2:12,Msg)

Here’s To Your Growth In 2014
May the Lord make the coming year, the people, circumstances and time of it, a fertile ground for your purpose and destiny to grow in. May you grow beyond all the bounds of what you have been told you would never be and never accomplish. May you 
outgrow the small view and reputation that family, acquaintances and culture have believed they had every right to keep you in. May you sprout out on every branch and may every bloom become valuable fruit. May you labor under and rejoice and revel in awesome, excruciating growing pains that bring you to the height of your Lord’s expectations for you in this year. No more withering, no more stunted growth but God-enabled enlargement, production, extension, multiplication and proliferation be unto you for the glory and the Name’s sake of our LORD JESUS CHRIST and His fame in the earth.

God Delivers From Destructive Heritage
In 2014 God will deliver people from destructive heritage. Our merciful and caring God wants to deliver people from the illnesses and/or diseases that their parents had; such as heart disease, kidney disease, cancer, blood issues and mental issues as well as others.
He wants to deliver people from out of the same rut a parent was in; e.g., poverty, stubbornness, temper, anger, dependency on alcohol, drugs or personalities.
I DECLARE that we are coming out of the defeat of generational curses and setting a victorious course for our generation and generations to come. We will enter into and possess promises that former generations never embraced.

Engaging God’s Design For 2014
2014 is the time period the Lord has made (Ps.118:24). We will rejoice because the Lord has made it in keeping with His purposes and plans. It is a time period that we may not thoroughly understand nor have a complete grasp of. Yet, the times are in His hand (Ps.31:15). Throughout 2014 we will continue to rejoice because the all-wise God is not behind the times nor even trying to catch up. He has already stepped out into tomorrow and bids us come and partake in His worthy enterprise and we will engage His design with energy and expectation of the extraordinary. Expectancy For The Extraordinary
May the Lord wash and cleanse you from every failure, every doubt and every judgment from others so that you may enter the New Year with expectancy for the extraordinary of Jahweh all through the coming year.
“26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” (Eph.5:26-27
Lifestyle And Purpose
I have heard a lot of talk about going on a diet for the New Year. What I believe the Lord has been wanting to get across to me is not so much the concept of “diet” but rather the concept of “lifestyle.” We don’t need to change meals so much as we need to change our lifestyle. The meals don’t determine the lifestyle, the lifestyle determines the meals and all the other things that accompany healthy living (including exercise). In order to be effective in our Kingdom purpose, we must live a lifestyle that serves that purpose.
“They will eat the fruit of their lifestyle. . .” (Prov.1:31, GW)

End Well To Begin Well
As the people of God assemble on this Sunday, may they realize the value of ending the old year well that they may begin the new one well. May they turn from the uncompleted tasks and the failures of the past year that is behind them; turn from those things that seem to be accusing them and threatening them of repetition in the future. May they, in concerted determination, turn and face and bless and praise Jahweh who is the wise Securer of the future of His people, and move forward with faith in Him alone.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jer.29:11, NKJV)
Participating In The Already-Done
When Isaiah said, “For unto us a son is born” he was speaking in the prophetic perfect tense. Typically, the perfect tense in a language is completed past action but Isaiah speaks in the tense that is completed future action. As far as the prophet was concerned, it was already done. The whole matter of the virgin birth of the Son of God began to come together piece by piece, day by day and person by person. God worked through people, circumstances and time to bring about the birth of our LORD “in the fullness of time.” (Gal.4:4) Now THAT is the day Jesus was born.
There are events that shall come to pass in 2014 that Almighty God has already spoken and, through His workings, they are being formed even now. Let’s align ourselves and volunteer to be participants in those “shall be’s.”
“But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,” (Gal.4:4, NKJV)
Taking Good Counsel
We are all likely to be making plans and setting goals for 2014 and beyond. Our basic plan (that promises to be good throughout the whole year) might should be to take good counsel and accept correction— that’s the way to live wisely and well. We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but God’s purpose prevails.

Born To You This Day
Jesus was born on a REAL DAY in REAL HISTORY (“For there is BORN TO YOU THIS DAY” ) and is relevant to man’s needs and man’s cries today in the real world. He was born as The Answer and no one else and nothing else will meet the need within us nor will anything else fulfill us. He was “born to” us to be our “all in all” (Eph 1:23) and the world around us will benefit.
“Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 FOR THERE IS BORN TO YOU THIS DAY in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (Lk.2:10-11, NKJV)
Christmas And/Or Thanksgiving
When speaking of the birth of Jesus, it is interesting to note the particular terms Prophet Isaiah uses in Chapter 9. Jesus is referred to by two different terms. (1) “For a CHILD will be born to us” speaks of our LORD coming to live among men as Emmanuel-God with us. (2) But it is important for us to realize the impact of the second term used: “a SON will be given to us.” This is reference to the fact that God, the Father, is giving His greatest gift to mankind, HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON as the One who would grow “in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man” (Lk.2:52) and become our Redeemer. WE have been given, through the Christmas Advent, the Gift of Life which is not a thing, but God’s SON. It may be that Christmas is more truly Thanksgiving Day than the holiday in November. Blessed be the Name of the LORD!

Extraordinary Events Of Christmas
The Christmas events were extraordinary. Angels were active and interactive with the characters in the event. Persons of high rank got personally involved at great expense. Individuals of lowly birth and lowly means played as important a role as those of higher caste. Divine intervention and protection and wisdom kept the characters in pace and in place. Signs and wonders served to help the characters get into position at just the right time to be supply for Mary and Joseph and the Little One they were privileged to raise up for the saving of a nation.
Let us do far more than delight in the extraordinary events of the Christmas Advent. Let us consider them as that which was initiated to become the ordinary, all year long, for those who would embrace this Extraordinary One born in such an extraordinary way.
“And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, just as it had been told them.” (Lk 2:20, Amp)

Due Time
Expectancy comes alive at the intersection of Prepared and Due-Time. By the time the prepared son or daughter intersects with Due-Time, something’s gotta give, something’s gotta change, something’s gotta manifest in the earth as in heaven. An expectant woman goes through nine months of preparation and transformation to get to due time of delivery. People of purpose go through twenty days, twenty weeks, twenty months or twenty years, (twenty signifying the time needed to prepare and transform into God’s order), to get to due time. A holy EXPECTANCY announces you are on that threshold of God’s good plans ready to be propelled into what has been developing for tangible manifestation.

Misguided Expectancy
I pray release right now for those who are gifted, called, anointed and skilled for life purpose, yet are walking unfulfilled because of misguided expectancy. Expectancy falls short if “be fruitful and multiply” only means duplication or mass production. Expectancy is short-circuited if we are determined to fit the mold of a previous model. Expectancy is distorted if it is influenced by personal issues like a need for attention or affirmation or acceptance. Expectancy is diseased if it is driven by fear or shame or pride. So, let’s cooperate with Father as He breaks the thought patterns that lead to misguided expectancy so that we successfully break out of life cycles of frustration and disappointment.

The Distinctives Of Our Obediences
In considering a variation on a theme (from my last post), there is a deep breath of freedom in realizing your rose will not have to be exact to a previous pattern. It is good news to know that even if you perceive your call and purpose, that still does not lock down every detail about its ultimate expression. As surely as we must all mature toward the image of Christ in character and relationship (as sons), so we must mature in our understanding of calling and purpose through the distinctives of our obediences. I suspect history will likely prove our footprints as unique as our fingerprints.

Expectancy: Variations On A Theme
Let’s take the lid off Expectancy through Variations on a Theme: I have seen artists do variations on a theme, like roses for example. With twenty artists painting roses, the 
colors and shapes and sizes and details vary to such extremes that the results are unique beyond imagination. I believe that it would help us clear some of the fog about our life calling and purpose if we expected a variation on a theme, if we expected our lives to produce a unique expression of obedience. For too long many of us have lived in EXPECTANCY that is limited in scope, especially regarding purpose, calling and fulfillment. Purpose often gets narrowed down to constricted categories as either religious, noble callings or secular, ignoble callings that are simply necessary functions in society. Experience and tradition narrow thinking even further by defining the most noble to be callings of God as those within the church structure or system. Even the gifts of the Spirit have been so narrowly confined that we don’t expect a word of knowledge outside a church service nor do we expect a working of miracles in secular corporations or classrooms. All these limited definitions have dictated our EXPECTANCY level and eventually our outcomes. The theme of all our lives should be to glorify God on the earth by accomplishing the work , (effort or occupation) He has given us to do, (John 17:4, NAU) There is no need to box that in, instead, let’s keep the theme of doing what you were born to do open to the Holy Spirit’s variations. Let’s allow the Holy Spirit to direct our EXPECTANCY and determine how we paint a rose in our lifetime.

Quenching Fiery Darts
There are some people who, throughout 2013, have tried to hold up the shield that quenches the fiery darts coming against them and their family and their church. But because of continued wearying circumstances, you have wearily lowered that shield and some of the darts and accusations have gotten through and done damage. Entering into 2014, you are getting that shield back up and into position by realizing and declaring, “But the Word of God says______.” As you quote the Word in the face of the incoming fiery darts, faith will begin to arise and you will, once again, lift the shield that quenches the darts. 2014 for you will be a season of quenching the fiery darts with the Word of faith.
“Above all, take the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” (Eph.6:16)
