Don’t Ignore the Small Things

KATHY—While intercessors should not sweat the small things, neither should we ignore them.  The Word tells us to consider the impact of small things like the small rudder that directs a huge ship.  Again in Zech.4:10, we are admonished not to despise small beginnings because their impact will be big in future.  Many times intercessory dreams and visions and impressions seem faint or small, yet they actually carry insights that prove crucial or huge down the road.

Not by Might nor by Power

MELISSA—When the Lord said that we should pray so we can be prepared for the onslaught, we did, and then His instruction came to hold. What this instruction has shown me is “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’  says the Lord of Hosts.” (Zech. 4:6) This cannot be handled or fixed by our might or power. We are at the place where all of our self-help, strength, reasoning and logic have absolutely no power against this onslaught. What we are experiencing is what has been fueling the problems in lives and society and it has been hidden behind the scenes until now. This is a spiritual war and this is only the beginning.   (MELISSA is leading worship and speaking at KC2024. Go to martygabler com/kc2024/ to see the schedule and all details.)

Change Agents

EarthSpaceMelissa — It’s time for Change-Agents to wake up and be Heaven on earth.  WE can do this because it’s “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” (Zechariah 4:6) What is a heavenly Change-Agent? It’s one who makes a difference wherever they are because they carry Heaven in them.  When I say Heaven, I mean one who carries the original intent of God wherever they go.  What is God’s original intent? Heaven on earth, a Kingdom without end (Luke 1:31-33).  The difference between our Change-Agents and the ones making the news right now is that we cause life, healing, peace, hope, restoration—not death and destruction!

Beyond Skills to Purpose

David was sent by his father to check on his brothers who had gone to war. When David came up over the top of the mountain and saw the scope of what was in the ManLookMountain.jpgvalley below, he could have easily concluded that this ordeal was none of his concern. It did not appear that David had any abilities or skills or protocol to deal with this escalated national problem. The lesson we take away from this bit of Israel’s history (as in numerous others) is that we should never forget to factor in God’s purpose and power. Zech.4:6, CEV — “So the angel explained that it was the following message of the Lord to Zerubbabel: I am the Lord All-Powerful. So don’t depend on your own power or strength, but on my Spirit.”
