Not the Impossible Dream

KATHY GABLER—A NORM is something that is normal, typical, the known and what usually happens. What if every time you prayed for the sick they were healed on the spot?  That’s not the impossible dream because it happened in the New Testament, but that’s not a NORM where I’m from, not yet at least.  What if we couldn’t guarantee Church-As-Usual in the future because the Holy Spirit started translating people during worship to go work miracles and come back and tell what God did?  That would be a New Norm! What if people went to church to DO what’s on Father’s front burner and participated in an intercessory, governmental coo that brought down the dictator over politics in a county or over child abuse or poverty in a region?  I declare, such  New Norms are forming.

Can I be Real?

MELISSA—Can I just be real with you? Here’s where I am currently, things don’t look right or feel right, (and I’ve had multiple conversations with others feeling the same way). It’s looking like the norm we grew up in has faded into the sunset for good. Things that used to entertain us have become disgusting beyond words and the atmosphere is so weighty it is tangible. BUT in the midst of all of this, I sense something phenomenal coming that has me so full of hope and pure joy that I can breathe deeper than I ever have.    (MELISSA is leading worship and speaking at KC2024.
