Speak Peace

Melissa Gabler—A reminder in the face of so much opposition: don’t forget that a lot of what you are dealing with personally, whether it be physically or emotionally, may be the war in the atmosphere.  We have the authority to say “peace” because we are His agents.  When our Lord told the storm to “be still” the atmosphere listened.  We carry that same authority and it is our job to change the atmosphere during our lifetime.  So, the next time you are dealing with something personally let your first reaction be to remember there is so much more going on around you than your eyes can see.  Ask, “Where is this coming from and how do I need to deal with it?” You may simply need to say, “Peace, be still.”

Thoughts Back On Him

wavesIn Jn.14:1 when our Lord is telling us to not let our hearts be troubled, this Jesus is saying, “Stop putting your thoughts on those things and put your thoughts back on Me.”  That is not putting your head in the sand but getting your focus where it belongs. I know the waves are there! I am sitting in 6in. of water! But the answer is not in focusing on the waves but focusing on Him who is so desiring to pull me up out of the waves.
