The Intended Image Brought our of Darkness

Back in the day, I used to have my own darkroom where I developed pictures.  The process it took to walk out with a picture is quite remarkably like the past era we have been in.  You start in a very dark room with a safe light, take a piece of light sensitive paper, put a negative between the paper and a white light and it burns an image on that paper. Now, you can’t see that image… yet.  Next you put that paper in DEVELOPER, but you don’t just leave it there.  You have to agitate that paper until the image starts to appear.  Then you move it into a stop bath which stops the developing process.  You don’t want an over-developed picture, it’s overdone. You agitate it some more to make sure the picture stops developing.  Then you move it into something called “fix” which gets rid of extra particles and keeps the final product from being sensitive to light.  Agitate some more.  Then finally, the picture gets put into a water bath to clear it of chemicals so it is ready to be presented.  Oh, you agitate it some more to make sure those chemicals are washed off.  Lastly, you let that picture dry and it is ready to be presented.  That’s just the process it takes for the picture to be developed.  The film development, the captured/intended image, happens in complete darkness!

This process is a great picture (no pun intended) of original intention of God being developed on this earth.  There are intentions developed in secret so the enemy cannot touch them.  Then they go thru the process of birthing the image of God.  You notice the agitation required for the image to be fully developed, but also notice there is development, movement, fixing and washing.  Come on! (Second excerpt from Melissa’s article “PIcture This”.)

No Fears in the Atmosphere

A while back a person was regularly posting updates on Facebook to report their battle with a physical infirmity. Each time they posted, there was a particular individual who reassured them that they were praying but they would interject phrases like, “I have heard of that but I also know that is not good” or “I am praying and I hope that I don’t hear that it has gotten worse”. Those phrases have built-in anticipation for the fulfilling of their worst fears. Those negative aspects negate the positive sentiments being so feebly expressed. That person has a certain anticipation: the fulfillment of their fears. Platitudes and simplistic, typical replies are often an insult to the hearer, and what good has it done to release one’s fears into an atmosphere where the sufferer is likely already tentatively holding on to the last thread of positive consideration?  (The third excerpt from Marty’s article “Anticipation Nation”)

Stop The Negative

How do we, in a time of need, suddenly stop the negative and suddenly begin authoritatively operating in the power of the Throne? stop signHow do we, in a season-shift, push down the troubling aspects of our environment and see what the Father is doing and do what the Father is doing in spite of those elements? We can immediately go to panic, to fear, to flight but our emotional make-up is such that we require a period of time before turning to the positive. I have seen deer in the wild that were perfectly at peace, grazing and resting. But, suddenly, there is a noise and they jump and snort and run. Then they stand around stomping and snorting and looking at each other and looking all around their environment. They eventually settle back down but the operative word here is “eventually.” It only takes one deer to keep the rest from settling back down and all the rest will run and abandon food and rest because of the one. How do we turn it around in our minds? We “be not conformed” (Rom.12:2). We do not allow ourselves to be pressed into the mold of present circumstances. We submit our minds to be transformed by the Word of God. Applied to the correct report, we can renew our minds. If we neglect knowing the intentions of the King for this season of history, we cannot be transformed into the mindset that cooperates with and gets the results of His Kingdom intentions.
