Take the Time to Pay Attention
MELISSA GABLER — What do I do when these prophetic things occur? Here’s where I start: TAKE THE TIME TO PAY ATTENTION. Remember, this life is meant to be EPIC. Take time to act, pray, speak it/declare it, write it down or simply agree in that moment. If it’s not obvious what to do, ask God for instruction. You may need to hold on to it for future reference. Don’t get impatient and jump into action if the action is not clear. That could lead to an unpleasant outcome. He could be training you in that moment, getting you ready.

Contaminating Mood or Conversation
KATHY GABLER—I remember once that a spirit of depression came into the house. It was almost visible like a cloud of fog. Marty and I both noticed the plaguing presence and realized neither of us were down or worried so that we had generated such a downer-atmosphere. (One sign you are dealing with a spirit is they are irrational and cannot be explained through logical processing.) That spirit had come in trying to contaminate the air to influence our mood or conversation so that we would give agreement to legalize its presence and agenda. This is why the air is a crucial battlefield. It is unseen, yet present, so we must learn to discern and pick up on what has blown in. When we are conscious of these things then we can counter them. If we don’t discern it, we can add to the toxicity of the air because we allow our moods or thoughts or words to just go with the flow. That is coming under the influence of the air and that is agreement that empowers it’s agenda. We have to discern and refuse to agree through our reactions or words or moods.

One of Those Defining Moments
KATHY GABLER—When I heard “and the moment before” it was one of those defining moments that declares God is in charge and that He has the last word on all that concerns me. (The fact that He takes time to define a moment in our life is a shot of impacting love.) Those defining moments bring a clarity that pierces every other influence we may be under. The subtle snare is how easy it is to come under the influence of a thought, an emotion or an atmosphere and be in agreement before we even realize we had a choice not to. Recently, I realized this as I was packing to leave for a few days of meetings. The phone rang and the host pastor mentioned something in passing that really had nothing to do with the meetings, but it bothered me. My excitement for the trip was slammed. A slammed, emotional state is an open window for an unwanted wind of influence to enter and preside. Of course, we can choose not to allow the influence over our mood or our day, but emotion can swing from excitement to dread so quickly that the will does not get involved until it too is under the same influence. Then once the mind is under the influence of a negative atmosphere, it is amazing how your whole world is suddenly mulligrub grey.

May Good Things Spring up Out of You
MARTY GABLER—May good things and giftings, and words of encouragement and enabling spring up out of you in this season like a spring that is beginning to flow. May all the debris of uncertainty and past failures and criticisms blow completely away as the good things flow unhindered to bless others. Get into the Word of God and let it speak more loudly to you than the voices that would remind you of your history. Be reminded that the former things are cast into the sea of forgetfulness. The forgiveness and enablements of Jesus Christ override past failures and insure future victories. ”The good man, from his [inner] good treasure, brings out good things…” (Matt.12:35a, Amp) We are praying you discover daily God’s forgiveness in your life.

How do You Know You Are Hearing God?
MELISSA GABLER—How do you know if what you are hearing is God? Well, does it line up with His Word? For instance, murder and adultery… not God! Also, He trains you to hear Him. “The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the Lord hath made even both of them.” (Proverbs 2:12) Sometimes we train ourselves to ignore the prophetic lifestyle because we “don’t want to be weird”. This really is an epic life we are meant to live—not fairytale or fantasy, but epic. Why epic? Epic is quite unlike fairytale or fantasy that denote magic, rainbows and butterflies, and other-worldly superhumans. “Epic” denotes work, grit, fight, humans living their destiny and winning. So, don’t ignore His training. Don’t ignore that relationship.

The Lord of This Moment
KATHY GABLER—One day, sometime back, I sat down at the piano and began to let worship rise to the Lord Jesus. Needing His most-desired intervention that day, I began to spontaneously sing out of the conviction of my heart, “You are the Lord of this moment”. That worshipful, prophetic declaration that day at the piano was also a cry from my heart for a moment of comfort and quietness that would shut out all the noise of need and concern and “what-ifs.” The awesome Spirit of my God did not miss nor ignore that heart-cry. If desperation had my ship listing, His four-word echo set me aright. If anxiety was smothering, His words brought me a deep breath. If time was threatening, His words turned the clock back. If I feared I was at an unchangeable end, hope took me back to a new beginning. He was reminding me that before circumstances piled up, before dysfunction developed, before trouble troubled, He had seen it coming, and He had the table set for me before my enemies even got there. When I said, “You are the Lord of this moment” and He echoed, “And the moment before,” it was a powerful reminder that His provision is there before the problem.

My Place as a Lively Stone
MARTY GABLER–As the people of God assemble today, may each person realize the importance of, and see the value of their place as, a lively stone in the household of God. Illusions and Fears About Moons
MARTY GABLER—While there are people in every generation who have illusions and fears about moons, eclipses, days of darkness and calendar dates, let us all fear GOD and walk before Him uprightly through all the comings and goings of signs and dates and books and videos on social media. In spite of illusions, may the people of God live fruitfully and effectively while perfect love is casting out fear created by those illusions and agenda pushers (1Jn.4:18). “But against all illusion and fantasy and empty talk There’s always this rock foundation: Fear God!” (Eccl.5:7, Msg)
Dates, predictions and signs come and go in every generation and during and after the book writing and prophesying of it all, and after the hubbub, frenzy, fear and debates subside, creation is still left groaning for the manifestation of the sons of God. We are surrounded by masses who wish their lives were different. It would not do creation nor the miserable masses an ounce of good for sons of God to be manifest somewhere out there in the distant, eternal future. Creation is not groaning for the cessation of time but for the benefits received when the King’s sons/daughters rule wisely and authoritatively with their Father’s character and enablement in real time, in present circumstances (Matt.10:7-8; Mk.16:17-20).

Must-Have Items
MELISSA GABLER—These days many of the must-have items touted on social media by “influencers” are from very dark origins and meant to enslave and control the purchaser. But rationalism would say, “Don’t be dramatic. You watch too many movies.” That brings me to the next item, entertainment. Entertainment has become such a priority in our culture that it has made its way into many of our churches. Some like to quote movies and throw the world’s songs into worship sets. There are those who hope those sermons are short because they need to get home for “the game”, and we just keep overlooking the demonic that gets more and more obvious in our favorite TV shows. Rationalism: “Oh it’s not that bad. Don’t be so religious!” I recently saw a video of a man bringing someone to deliverance. In the video you would hear the voice of the young man coming to deliverance, then all of a sudden you could hear the voice of the demon. The man doing deliverance asked the demon where it came from and it told him it came through a song. The young man explained that he only listened to the song because he likes the music, but the demon said, “We can use what is ours.” Well, there’s no rationalizing that legal technicality!

Wrestling With Unanswered Prayer
KATHY GABLER—After a time of wrestling with unanswered prayer that hadn’t seen the slightest possibility of being answered and after asking the Lord for wisdom and council before my attitude got way out of line, the Lord spoke to me, “Stay still and stay thankful”. Those are very clear instructions. Immediately I began to think about stillness and thankfulness and Jn.14:1 “Don’t let your heart be troubled”, came to mind. Having studied it I knew it meant “don’t let your heart be agitated or tossed to and fro or perplexed with doubt” and all that is the opposite of being still. Unanswered prayers don’t get to determine the mood for the day. When the man arrived from Jairus’ house and told him not to trouble the Teacher any more because his daughter was dead, Jesus heard the man and said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid! Just trust me, and she’ll be all right.” (Lk.8:50, TLB) Trust is the place where you don’t live by what you see or by what you hear; trust is the place where you stand on the Lord’s steady faithfulness, His unshakeable goodness, His undistracted awareness of what you need, of your prayers and when and how it will be best to answer them.

The Unreachable
MARTY GABLER—Have you ever been in a swimming pool and reached for a leaf only to have it move away from you because of the movement of the water under your hand, still out of reach? It seemed to be just beyond the reach of your fingers and only a small amount of effort would bring it into your grasp, yet it evaded you. I have also seen a parent holding a child and extending them forward so they might reach something otherwise unreachable. We are not dependent upon our reach alone. In Christ, in His purposes and plans, which include sons/daughters of the Most High, we are enabled to reach and shall reach what has been unreachable before now. Just as the parent held the child out so its little hand was able to grasp, our Lord wants us to grasp that which is within His Kingdom purposes. “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear.” (Isa.59:1)

Weapons Formed Against You
MELISSA GABLER—While thinking about recent events I had to deal with, the scripture Isaiah 54:17 “no weapon formed against you will prosper” came up again. This time, however, I saw it differently. I think a lot of times this is used as a defensive scripture when really it is an offensive scripture! God equips us for the weapon BEFORE, not after, it is formed against us. The reason the weapon doesn’t prosper is because He already set countermeasures in place prior to its launch. He already equipped you with everything necessary to walk out of this battle in tact. That, my friends, is an offensive scripture loaded for battle!

What is an Intercessor?
KATHY GABLER—I knew an older gentleman who was called to be an intercessor and that calling was confirmed through a prophetic word. He had not recognized the calling, nor could he receive the word, because of his definition of an intercessor. His belief was that an intercessor was a person who prayed for many hours every day. His experience indicated that was neither his lifestyle nor his desire; so, he could not believe he could ever be an intercessor. After a conversation with a discerning friend, he discovered intercession is not bound to one particular lifestyle and he opened his heart to the call of God. His misunderstanding had been keeping him from fulfillment and effectual purpose for years. Discernment is about seeing a difference that will make a difference. Discernment turns the light on so we can take action and make adjustments.

Gods Spirit Show His Power

The Lively Element of Prophecy
MARTY GABLER—There is a lively element to prophecy that cannot leave us like we are. That God-thing on the inside of us begins to get into agreement with His Word and makes room for His Word to come alive in us and work in us what otherwise was impossible before. The reason I like to use the eagle as a symbol of the prophetic is because of what the eagle represents to us: the ability to rise above; the ability to soar high and see from God’s perspective. The prophetic word enables us to rise up and see what we were not able to see from our circumstances.

A Strategic Dream
KATHY GABLER — A friend called with a strategic dream that was an answer to her prayer. She has been in a on-going trial at work and is weary of the situation. She asked God if she could leave the situation. In her dream she was a nurse in an emergency room and she was tending to three patients. A doctor walked in and she was relieved to see him because she knew he was a trustworthy doctor. He told her to go get something and she was walking quickly down a long hall. A door opened in the hall and a lady walked out. In the dream she realized it was angel. The angel beckoned her to come with her. But she knew the care for the three patients must be finished first, so she asked the angel if she could check with her tomorrow. The angel answered yes and walked back through a door which disappeared as it closed.
The trustworthy doctor was the Great Physician coming on the scene to intervene. That is why she knew Him and was so glad to see Him. Often, as in this case, a hall represents transition or moving from one place to another, one opportunity to another. She was encouraged to realize that He had given her instructions to enter a transition time, and allowed her to glimpse a new door, an opportunity divinely provided. Her sense of integrity kept her there to finish with the three patients. The three patients symbolized the three years of trial of her “patience” with her co-worker. She actually passed a test of character when she chose not to go through the door and to stay until finished because “three” also is significant of completing a divine process and purpose. And as the angel said, there will be another divine opportunity when the time is right.

Dreams and Visions are Relentlessly Attacked
MARTY GABLER—Dreams and visions are relentlessly attacked by the enemy until: (1.) they are mature and defeat him or (2.) we relinquish them. Relinquished dreams are no threat to our enemy at all. That is why God raises up midwives who will not sell out to Pharaoh. There is indeed One more desirable and more powerful than Pharaoh. Because God prepared God-fearing midwives, Moses (the offspring of God’s wise planning) was protected, kept alive and led Israel out of Egypt to the promised land. God is ALWAYS FAITHFUL to raise up midwives to keep His offspring (promise) alive. Be sensitive to recognize them and not drive them away for they will help birth the baby of deliverance for your life. A midwife may be a prophetic word, a song in the night, a teaching or a compassionate person who may have no idea whatsoever that they are the midwife sent by God to help give birth to your deliverance.

You Don’t Have to be Called to be a Prophet
MELISSA GABLER —I’m going to address the Prophetic Lifestyle. Let me start by saying this is a lifestyle for all of us to live not just those called to be a Prophet. This is my definition of the Prophetic Lifestyle: It Is LIVING BY THE SPIRIT and sensing, hearing and seeing God’s intention about the here and now, and what is to come. It’s also about carrying that God-intention to its manifestation AND letting that intention do its work in us.

“Better-to-just-leave-that-alone” Subjects
KATHY GABLER—I know many religious people put dreams and visions and prophecy in that category with “better-to-just-leave-that-alone” subjects. However, it was our Father God Who gave man the dream tool and it was God Who promised to pour out His Spirit with dreams and visions and prophecy following. Several times in both the Old and New Testament, God communicated His plans, instructions and insights through dreams, visions, prophetic words and supernatural experiences. And there are numerous biographies of godly men and women with such experiences throughout history since the New Testament times. If we throw away the real with the counterfeit or throw away all truth because some truth has been abused, we are robbing ourselves.
