Not Use Issues as a Screen

As the people of God assemble today, may the Lord enable them to step beyond issues that would otherwise hinder their hearing the truths of His Word. May issues not be considered or guarded as the Word of God is spoken. May those issues not be a screen that the Word has to get through before the Word can be considered for repentance and/or growth. May personal issues, and issues with others who are present in the meeting, take a back seat to the life and delivering power of the Word of God.  Psa 81:13 “Oh, that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways! 14 Speedily then I would subdue their enemies and turn My hand against their adversaries.” (Amp)

Whispers on the Wind

Recently, I asked the Lord for insight on what some pastor friends were dealing with. His answer was, “Whispers in the wind.” Caught up in the moment, I did not speak but used my hands to war (Psa 144:1). I thrust my hand in the air, snapping antennafrom an open palm to a pinching grip to silence the noise and shut up the foul breath.
I was confident that the “winds” were being confronted by counterforces of God and the outcome would be a halt to the lethal influences invading lives and business and government, especially in the church mountain of culture in that region. “Be still and know that I Am God” was the prevailing, activated directive as I watched the war in the air. I saw dark powers vying for positions like communication companies contending for key antennae placement. The powers of darkness were looking for effective perches for the most intense signal and dominating communication advantage to keep the atmosphere inundated with their whispers, but the sounds were muted.

Need Reality

(Kathy Gabler) – People do not need rhetoric about God, they need the reality of God.  “My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action.” (1Jn.3:18, GNT)

Good Common Sense

May the Lord God draw our attention beyond false presumption and cultural misinformation and the weakness of mere emotional reactions to train us in good common sense so that we may enjoy the fruit of living God’s way. “Train me in good common sense; I’m thoroughly committed to living your way.” (Ps.119:66, Msg)

My Times are in His Hand

May the Lord cover us, rescue us and keep us from involving ourselves with those who are not intending to operate within the timing of Him who sets the times and works His plans accordingly.  May our Lord save us from those who do not desire HIS calendar and those who simply neglect concern over His times. My times are in His Hand and I will not put them in the hands of any other. We need HIM, our Shepherd, every hour. “My times are in your hand…” (Ps.31:15, NKJV)  “Desperate, I throw myself on you: you are my God!  Hour by hour I place my days in your hand, safe from the hands out to get me.” (Ps.31:14-15, Msg)

Free From What Has Been

A public school teacher from our home church was talking with one of her students. The boy said that since his father was in prison, he would likely be in prison. She simply told him that he did not have to be in prison just because his father was. His response was, “I never thought of that.” The teacher only had to speak something that you might think could be left unsaid because it should be obvious. But for a boy who lived in an environment without hope, a simple word of encouragement changed his whole outlook.  Just because something has been a reality, even for a long time, does not mean it is a given for the future. Through Christ our Lord, we are free from what has been and have hope for what shall be.  “Thus we have been set free to experience our rightful heritage. 7 . . .And if you are a child, you’re also an heir, with complete access to the inheritance.” (Gal.4:5,7 Msg)

Strength for the Remainder of the Year

As the people of God assemble today may those whose hearts are heavy from failures, defeats and grief so far in this year lift their heads, get a deep breath and realize that they are part of the family of God and that they have strength and fellowship through Christ our Lord and the family of God to go on to victories in the remainder of the year.  But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.  4  With my voice I cry to the Lord, and He hears and answers me out of His holy hill. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! (Ps.3:3-4, Amp)

The Hope God Put in Me

I will not allow any person nor any adverse circumstances to determine the lifespan of the hope God originally put in me.

Save From the Presumption of Others

May the Lord save you from the ignorance of others, the presumption of others and the carelessness of others.  “When you act with presumption, convinced that you’re right, don’t be surprised if you fall flat on your face! But walking in humility helps you to make wise decisions.” (Prov.11:2, TPT)

No Lesser Version

As the people of God assemble today, may they realize there is no reason for us to live a lesser version of what God intended us to be. Let each of us provoke others to be what they were born to be.   “….keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does.” (1Pe.5:9b-11, Msg)

Reformation Day

We are celebrating Reformation Day! On October 31, 1517 Martin Luther nailed his Ninety-five Theses to the Wittenberg Church door in Germany. What had been covered over by centuries of profitable and manipulative tradition, was exposed and the truth of God’s Word, the Gospel of salvation by grace (Eph.2:8), was made known. There is ONE Mediator between God and man, not a Mediator plus someone or some religious/ecclesiastical system (Heb.10:10). That Mediator, JESUS, alone was appointed by God to make atonement for the sins of men by His death. His atonement alone gives only Him authorization to be our Intercessor with God in our behalf. All persons (no matter race or creed) are to go directly to that Intercessor JESUS (Heb.7:25) and trust only in this Mediator alone. “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1Tim.2:5).

Not Experience

God wants the passion of His character released into the Body of Christ. God’s passion is NOT our human experience. The people who will know God will know passions that they have never known in themselves alone. They will know extents of emotions that they would never know within the bounds of culturally acceptable bounds. Our human experience wants limitations on all things and wants to control all things…. including God! One preacher put it this way, “The ways of God must be inscrutable beyond understanding. If they were not, they would be surrendered to man’s mind. And if to man’s mind, then ultimately to man’s control.” Cf. Isa 55:8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. 9 As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

As You Go

“AS YOU GO” about your Father’s business today, this week and the remainder of this year, what you accomplish will far exceed your abilities and learned knowledge. You will have delightful discoveries that your Father’s hand is working beyond your immediate awareness. You will be involved in His workings without having to launch yourself for a particular mission. He will use you and you will accomplish matters for His Kingdom “AS YOU GO”. You will accomplish more “accidentally” than the enemy will accomplish on purpose. Matt 10:7  “And AS YOU GO, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand!”

Compact Together

As the people of God assemble today, may His powerful Holy Spirit compact us, that is, cause us to coalesce, being formed into one mass or community operating in harmony. May the ligaments in His Church hold us together solidly. And may we so be built up in love that our harmony may never be found by Him to be disconsonant.

“For because of Him the whole body (the church, in all its various parts), closely joined and firmly knit together by the joints and ligaments with which it is supplied, when each part [with power adapted to its need] is working properly [in all its functions], grows to full maturity, building itself up in love.” (Eph.4:16, Amp)

Trust and Lean

As the people of God assemble today, may they together lean upon the Lord and encourage those who are discouraged and battle-worn to lean upon and trust the Lord with all their heart and not trust their own understanding.
Prov.3:5-6 “Trust it the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding, but in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.”

Visions and Equipping

The curtain rising on equipping insight may come in a vision.  Recently, I was concerned about some dear friends who are in spiritual war in a different region of Texas.  I asked the Lord for insight on what they were dealing with.  His answer was, “Whispers in the wind.”  Caught up in the moment, I did not speak but used my hands to war (Psa 144:1).  I thrust my hand in the air, snapping from an open palm to a pinching grip to silence the noise and shut up the foul breath.  Immediately, I heard, “Who are you to address me?”  The sudden comeback implied I had no legal right to touch a battle in another place.  The comeback also carried a threat that I’d better stay out of this for my own safety,  but springing from my spirit, I declared aloud, “’Greater is He that is in me’ is addressing you.”  Enough said. –Kathy Gabler

Hearing Wisdom and Acting

May the Lord graciously help His people to listen when they are supposed to listen, to the people they are supposed to listen to. May they hear clearly and act judiciously and reap the benefit of the principles of Almighty God. “Refuse good advice and watch your plans fail; take good counsel and watch them succeed.” (Prov.15:22, Msg)

Contend, Wage War, Heed

Do you have a word or promise of God that has not come to pass in your life? Then (1) CONTEND—Deut.2:24 “begin to possess… and contend”; “contend”: to excite oneself against a foe,  (2) WAGE WARFARE— 1Tim.1:18 “wage the good warfare”: expedition, campaign, (3) HEED—2Pe.1:19 “…the prophetic word which you do well to heed”:  to attach oneself to; to be given to or addicted to; to devote thought and effort to.  Seems that while we are expecting God to do it all, there is a considerable amount we can be doing.

Yoke-Fellows

As the people of God assemble today may they be so focused on being yoke-fellows with those where God has set them in the Body of Christ that voices from the past and voices of faulty reasoning cannot reach them and call them away from their post.  “And I sent messengers to them, saying, I am doing a great work and cannot come down. Why should the work stop while I leave to come down to you?” (Neh.6:3, Amp)

God’s Original Warranty

(Melissa Gabler) — God Himself created the original warranty when Jesus took those stripes on His back (Isa. 53:5 & 1 Pe. 2:24). Yeah, that’s right, we have a never ending warranty on us, signed in blood. This warranty includes, “…all things that pertain unto life and godliness” (2 Pt. 1:3).  Whatever you are dealing with is covered in your “warranty”. It’s fixable!  The siege is over because the Lord has already lifted up a standard against it (Is. 59:19).  Our individual lives are about the greater good so go ahead and be healed right now! You are too important to be silenced by sickness, pain, or emotional turmoil.

How do we Resolve Anger?

Kathy Gabler) — How do we CHANGE and resolve anger?  The first step is HONESTY.   WARNING: our religious mindsets can set us up for defeat, if we believe that being angry is a sin.  If that is the case, the accuser of the brethren delights in keeping us on the witness stand, denying that we are angry.   He has an open and shut case against us and sues for damages.  Sometimes the suit lasts a lifetime!  But the Spirit of God lovingly bids us to get off the witness stand and calls us to the Judge’s chambers to admit the anger.  This might scare everyone in the courtroom, but it will not frighten the Judge. For in the honesty and truth of the Judge’s chambers change begins. Anger and grief begin to let go of our emotions.

Stir up the Amen!

Keep the “Amen” alive in you; that “Amen” the Holy Spirit put down deep in you when you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Worship, read the Word, listen to the teaching of the Word, share your testimony. Stir up the “Amen” to Who God is and to His Word.  “Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In Him, this is what we preach and pray, THE GREAT AMEN, God’s Yes and our Yes together, gloriously evident. God affirms us, making us a sure thing in Christ, PUTTING HIS YES WITHIN US. By His Spirit He has stamped us with His eternal pledge—a sure beginning of what He is destined to complete.” (2Cor.1:20-22, Msg)

The Lion, The Bear, The Giant And The King

The Lion, The Bear, The Giant And The King—The LION could not prosper against David because David kept God in the supreme position in his life, in his thoughts, in his consideration.  David had to put his harp down and sing his praises out of breath while running toward the lion to do battle with the lion. The BEAR could not prosper against David because of the supremacy of God in David’s life. The GIANT could not prosper against David even though he came against David with the deadliest of weapons. KING Saul could not prosper against David even though he had supreme authority in the land. God’s supremacy was far greater than Saul and his army. “Yet God is my king from of old, Who works deeds of deliverance in the midst of the earth.” (Ps.74:12, NASB)
