Opposition (Of Course)
It is obvious that the men who joined David at Hebron for the purpose of “turning the kingdom” were well aware of and well prepared for opposition and resistance: “Now these are the numbers of the divisions equipped for war, who came to David at Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the LORD”(1Chr 12:23). They didn’t wish themselves someplace else; they adjusted to the times and accomplished what could not be easily attained. What God has ordained always has been and will be most certainly resisted by the kingdom of darkness. Though we fight from a position of victory, the kingdom of darkness will continue to resist until the final manifestation of our victory that has come through the cross of Christ. Advancing the Kingdom of God (any aspect or all aspects of it) has never been without resistance and never will be until that day. In every generation there are scores of people who get discouraged and despair because of adverse circumstances and wish they were not living on the planet God ordained them effective on, but Jahweh is no less faithful in this moment of history than He was in 2Co 4:9: “we know that God knows what to do; we’ve been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn’t left our side.” We live in this time in history because God ordained it so and He also ordained the days to come for His Name’s sake (Ps23:3;106:8;1Jn2:12;3Jn:1:7) even if there is opposition we must come to understand and gain knowledge to overcome (1Chr 12:32). Resistance takes different forms at different stages of history and is dealt with at various intensity levels at various times but we still win battle after battle and conflict after conflict.

The Contender Has Met Darkness Head-On
The Contender Has Met Darkness Head-On
The soaking-worship began at 6:30p.m. last Wednesday night. Melissa stepped up to the mic as the instruments began playing and she began to spontaneously worship Jesus. Pastor Bill, who was scheduled to teach on healing that night just laid down on the floor. About 6:55p.m. Kathy and I walked into the auditorium. We walked down to the third row under a heavy presence of the Holy Spirit.
I began walking, worshipping and interceding along the right wall. After a while I was leaning on the wall. A few minutes later, I was holding myself up with one hand on the wall and the other hand on a chair back. That wasn’t working so I knelt at the chair.
About half-way through the evening I and several others began intermittently releasing a yell as we were stirred and touched by the Holy Spirit in the midst of holy worship. It was at this point that Melissa stepped back from the mic and the instruments began to play a new song.
The music began to gently swell and recede in a most beautiful way. (As we compared notes after the meeting, we discovered that several of us had heard a keyboard though no one was at the keyboard.) As the music began to swell I had a vision like I have never had. I saw gently-rolling hills that seemed to be alive. Over the closest hill came a great hoard of powerful horses with flaring nostrils and great flowing manes. On their backs were fierce warriors who stood in the stirrups with hands fast upon their reins and leaning forward, alongside the horses necks. They seemed to be speaking to the horses. The warriors’ long hair flowed in the wind as did the horses’ manes. While they listened, the horses eyes were focused intently upon what was ahead.
The view was panoramic. On the far right were the horses and riders. There didn’t seem to be any ground that was not being covered with horses hooves. There didn’t seem to be any spaces between the horses. Their great strides were covering an amazing amount of ground with each gallop.
Suddenly, my attention was drawn to the left side of the panorama. Up from behind a rock a dark, startled creature popped up and began staring at the flowing tide coming down upon him. A ways over from this creature, another popped up from behind a bush and yet another popped up from behind a small knoll, all terrified at what was soon and inevitably going to happen. At this point, 2K 6:16 “more are those who are with us than those who are with them” came to mind. Then, the advancing tide of horses and warriors rolled over the creatures as though they were nothing before their fierce and focused momentum.
Just moments after I had seen the vision Melissa, without knowing what I had seen, stepped back to the mic and began to sing, “He is The Great Contender and He has met darkness head-on tonight.” Jehovah-Sabaoth, Lord of Hosts, is contending with those who oppose His purposes.
Psa 2:1 Why the big noise, nations? Why the mean plots, peoples? 2 Earth-leaders push for position, Demagogues and delegates meet for summit talks, The God-deniers, the Messiah-defiers: 3 “Let’s get free of God! Cast loose from Messiah!” 4 Heaven-throned God breaks out laughing. At first he’s amused at their presumption; 5 Then he gets good and angry. Furiously, he shuts them up: 6 “Don’t you know there’s a King in Zion? A coronation banquet Is spread for him on the holy summit.” 7 Let me tell you what GOD said next. He said, “You’re my son, And today is your birthday. 8 What do you want? Name it: Nations as a present? continents as a prize? 9 You can command them all to dance for you, Or throw them out with tomorrow’s trash.” 10 So, rebel-kings, use your heads; Upstart-judges, learn your lesson: 11 Worship GOD in adoring embrace, Celebrate in trembling awe. 12 Kiss Messiah! Your very lives are in danger, you know; His anger is about to explode, But if you make a run for God–you won’t regret it! (Msg)
We are not helpless and ineffective before the opposition of darkness. Darkness is not the insurmountable, indefatigable force its propaganda is meant to conjure up.

Time For Issachar
While interviewing the great frontiersman, Daniel Boone, a reporter asked him, “Mr. Boone, have you ever been lost?” To which he replied, “Well, I was once bewildered for four days but I’ve never been lost.” At first, that sounds quite humorous but, in fact, it is a statement of some certainty. For an experienced explorer like Boone, it would be next to impossible for him to actually be lost in the truest since because he wasa man of resource, initiative and skill. It didn’t matter in what area of wilderness or frontier he found himself, he still had the confidence of his skills and wilderness survival knowledge. It didn’t matter if it was winter, summer, spring or fall. It made no difference if he was in mountains, prairies or swamps, his knowledge, experience and skills served to keep him alive and on a correct heading. North was still north and south was still south and that will never change. He knew what to do in any season or location and, in spite of bears and weather hazards he had to deal with on numerous occasions, he lived to tell the story time and again.
The sons of Issachar were not lost in the culture or the current events of their time. They knew what to do for their families and for their nation in the times in which they lived. The Holy Spirit now makes available to all what was only available to a few in the Old Testament. (Lk24:49; Jn16:13; 20:22; Acts1:8; Eph5:18; 1Jn2:20) We must have impartation from the Holy Spirit to know what is to come.

The Lord God Keeps Israel And Us

This is the day the Lord has made so…
I will rejoice because the Lord God Most High is actively involved in current events. He will not overlook or ignore unrighteous ploys and will not allow ours or Israel’s or His enemies to prevail. (Ps74)
“Yours is the day, Yours also is the night; You have prepared the light and the sun.
You have established all the boundaries of the earth; You have made summer and winter.
Remember this, O Lord, that the enemy has reviled, And a foolish people has spurned Your name.
Do not deliver the soul of Your turtledove to the wild beast; Do not forget the life of Your afflicted forever.
Consider the covenant; For the dark places of the Land are full of the habitations of violence.
Let not the oppressed return dishonored; Let the afflicted and needy praise Your name.” (Ps74:16-21)

Signs, Wonders And Hearing
Signs, Wonders And Hearing (Kathy)
Recently, our daughter Melissa heard during worship, “It’s time to exhale.” She felt it was God in the moment and stepped up and released those words in song. To her it was simply a proclamation to put in the atmosphere, but it was a sign and wonder to a pulmonary doctor in the congregation. He was so excited he went to the pastor to tell him that the song was healing instructions for a patient of his that was also there in the service. It was a sign and wonder to the patient also. (She’d had a tracheotomy).
Hearing instruction and obeying the instructions are the basic essentials for miracles, signs and wonders. It is highly possible that the instructions will be as unique as the participants. Mozart heard a unique sound and gave instructions to the instruments for the sound of light being created during creation in Genesis. When the orchestra played his music, supernaturally, light came up out of the orchestra pit and the audience was frightened with the sign and wonder. Isaiah didn’t just get up one day and decide to become The Nude Wonder-Boy, he was following instruction and obeying God for a governmental turnover in a nation. Elisha hadn’t practiced throwing a stick in lakes to make iron swim, but he had practiced hearing God. When he heard God in the moment, the axe miraculously floated.

Signs And Wonders And God In The Moment
Signs And Wonders And God In The Moment (Kathy Gabler)
It’s amazing that after over 2000 years we still struggle to think like the Last Adam, but we haven’t really been trained by the church or experience to take dominion and participate in the increase of God’s government. No Wonder, before Jesus said the Kingdom of heaven is within reach (Matt4:17), He said repent (consider things differently and change your mind.) We can repent and learn to think beyond what is to what should be. Kingdom thinking impacts the natural with the supernatural! (Matt6:10) One key to being part of that impact is that we do not look for miracles, signs and wonders; rather, we look for God in the moment.

Signs And Wonders Within Reach
Signs And Wonders Within Reach (Kathy Gabler)
We’ve only had peeks of God’s government impact in our lives and families and nation. We have only seen glimpses of God’s order in church history, but God is going to answer our prayer that Jesus taught us to pray: “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done.” (Mt6:10) That is an invitation to pierce the natural realm with the supernatural. So, we are going to have to adjust our thinking accordingly. We are going to have to think differently than previous generations. We must become convinced the supernatural dynamic of the Kingdom is within reach (Mt10:7) because we were born to participate and demonstrate the Kingdom just like Jesus demonstrated it. Coming under God’s order and government contradicts ruling forces with miracles, signs and wonders as necessary in order to usher in healing, deliverance and reformation.

The USA, Israel and God’s Upholding Word
The USA, Israel and God’s Upholding Word
When people creatively put something together, we are hoping that it will stay together long enough for us or someone else to get some amount of use out of it. But when the Lord our God creates something, He is not simply hoping it will stay together for a little while; He has a plan before He creates it (Isa46:10) and He upholds it by the Word of His power (Heb1:3). We see the chaos in our operative 5 dimensions and tend to focus on it and tend to believe that things will go the way of the deterioration processes within our 5 dimensions. However, our Lord is above those dimensions and comes into those dimensions from His limitless dimensions. He is indeed upon His throne but the Word of His power is already in every dimension. God’s physical sign of His faithfulness upon earth He calls “Jacob” (Isa43:1). That is the word most often used in the Bible when emphasizing the physical lineage of Israel. Israel will always have a physical lineage and will be preserved by the power of Jehovah’s Word that was present when He created “Jacob.” Take hope, people of God. The people of God, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, are being upheld by the Word of His power and that includes a way to overcome chaos which works against our Lord’s purposes. We declare the faithfulness of Jehovah guard the nation of Israel and guard our embassies around the world. The Lord God is not without initiative or resource. It was all in place before He created “Jacob” or this nation, and He is able to create something never seen before to bring His upholding Word to pass (Isa48:6-7).
“But now, thus says the Lord your Creator, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel, ‘Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!” (Isa43:1)
