Light is Enough

I have heard it said that it doesn’t matter how strong or deep the darkness is, one ray of light is enough to disperse it.  “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill.” (Matt.5:14, Msg)

Seeing and Hearing Good Things

How long has it been since you were delightfully surprised so that your heart leaped with joy? Have you ever come to the place in your life of seeing something you thought you would never get to see? Sudden discovery is a delight to the heart of persons of all ages. Finding something that is of personal value to you is like a treasure that brings great joy. There are blessings you have not yet received. There are victories you have not yet walked in. How do I know? (1Cor.2:9, CEV) “…What God has planned for people who love him is more than eyes have seen or ears have heard. It has never even entered our minds!” We are praying you discover daily that you are seeing and hearing good things from your heavenly Father.  (Marty’s Daily Discovery as heard on TEXAS PRAISE RADIO at the bottom of the hour 24hrs/day.)

From Failure to Future

Forgive us our debts as we also forgive our debtors”. . . And forgive us our debts AS we forgive our debtors.  I wonder if a healthy father-son relationship means having to continually ask for forgiveness?  I think many Christians feel this part of the prayer is a directive to always be sure we are still saved, but that is not praying as a son.  A healthy son does not continually question if he is still a part of the family.  This statement, more than a petition to be forgiven, is submission to a mature son’s discipline and training.  Forgiveness un-tethers us so our lives do not revolve around our conflicts.  Forgiveness changes our focus from failure to future.—Kathy Gabler

Word of God is Alive and Active

The Word of God is alive and active and cannot stop being alive and active. May the redemptive, productive Word you heard days ago or even years ago be alive and active in you today, producing fruit unto righteousness, life to the glory of our Lord’s name.  ”God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God’s Word. We can’t get away from it—no matter what.” (Heb.4:12-13, Msg)

Release From Anger

As the people of God assemble today, may they encourage each other and help each other to turn away from anger (even if it is the result of injustice), so that they may be released from that which eats at them and leaves them miserable. (Ps.37:8, Amp) “Cease from anger and abandon wrath; Do not fret; it leads only to evil.”

Stir Up The Amen

Keep the “Amen” alive in you; that “Amen” the Holy Spirit put down deep in you when you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Worship, read the Word, listen to the teaching of the Word, share your testimony. Stir up the “Amen” to Who God is and to His Word.  “Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In Him, this is what we preach and pray, THE GREAT AMEN, God’s Yes and our Yes together, gloriously evident. God affirms us, making us a sure thing in Christ, PUTTING HIS YES WITHIN US. By His Spirit He has stamped us with His eternal pledge—a sure beginning of what He is destined to complete.” (2Cor.1:20-22, Msg)

More Fully What God Intended

It has been said that “graveyards are full of good intentions that were never walked out,  full of dreams never fulfilled, books never written, relationships that were never gleaned from”. May you realize today that there is no reason for you to live a lesser version of what God intended you to be. There is no reason for you not to dream and, with the enablements of the Spirit of God, press forward beyond discouragements and obstacles.  (1Pe.5:9b-11, Msg) “….keep a firm grip on the faith… It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ… will have you put together and on your feet for good.”  We are praying you discover daily that you are becoming more fully what Father God intended.

Big Bad Christian Crusher?

There is no weapon in all of hell’s arsenal that is marked “Sure ‘Nuff Christian Killer.” “No weapon forged against you will prevail (Isa.54:17).”  There is no diabolical demon on the lower level of hell behind a great steel and concrete door marked “Big Bad Christian Crusher.” There just simply is no such thing. Indeed he has come to “steal, to kill and to destroy (Jn.10:10)” but he cannot unless we fall for his propaganda and give in to his deception. (Marty Gabler from his book “Sheep Have Short Legs”.)

God Intervenes – We Cooperate

We can pray and declare God’s will from the known will of God concerning each of those five points where we expect to see The Intervener. The known will of God is His written Word. (1) He will intervene with people—(Rom.12:17, Amp) “Repay no one evil for evil, but take thought for what is honest and proper and noble [aiming to be above reproach] in the sight of everyone.  18  If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19  Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for [God’s] wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay (requite), says the Lord.” God will intervene but our cooperation is essential. (2) God will intervene in our health—(3Jn.1:2, Msg) “We’re the best of friends, and I pray for good fortune in everything you do, and for your good health–that your everyday affairs prosper, as well as your soul!”  (3) He will intervene in our finances—(Phil.4:19, Amp) “And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”  (4) He will intervene in our nation—(Prov.14:34, GW) ”Righteousness lifts up a nation, but sin is a disgrace in any society.” (Ps.33:12, KJV) ”Blessed [is] the nation whose God [is] the LORD;”  (5) Our Lord will intervene for Israel—(Ps.121:4, KJV) ”Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.”  God will intervene but our cooperation is essential.  (Excerpt seven from Marty’s article “Deflecting Attacks and Seeing the Intervener”.)

Your Home – A Place of Healing

Have you ever wished that there was some place other than a hospital where you could go for healing? Have you wished there was a place of peace where you could completely escape the harshness of the world around you? Do you realize that prayer, belief in the Word of God and trusting in His desires for you can make your home into such a place? Father God desires your wholeness and your peace of mind.  May your home be a place of healing and recuperation from illnesses and from the harshness of the environment you move in on a daily basis.  (Ps.91:10, GW) “No harm will come to you.  No sickness will come near your house.”  We are praying you discover daily that you are seeing your home become a place of healing.  (Marty’s Daily Discovery as heard on TEXAS PRAISE RADIO at the bottom of the hour 24hrs/day.)
