The Best Solution

Simply put, we don’t get to determine what the answer must be when we call on Him. That kind of determination is a prescription for indigestion. Why? Because we are working from a very limited soul-perspective of the situation with even more limited soul-solutions. This kind of limitation focuses on the impossible rather than the God of the impossible. He not only sees the problem, but where it came from (possibly from entitlement mindsets passed on through the bloodline?) and He sees the best solution for the complete fix. That right there is the kind of “great and mighty” answer we are truly looking for.  (Third excerpt from Melissa Gabler’s article “Call on Him”.) The Lord Raises Us Up

As the people of God assemble today may the hope in our Lord’s Name and presence cause to stand erect those who are bowed under discouragement.
“The Lord upholds all those [of His own] who are falling and raises up all those who are bowed down.” (Ps.145:14, Amp)

The Victory of Jesus

(Jim Hodges)—The devil offered Jesus the kingdoms of this world in the wilderness. It is my conviction that Christ began to take on those kingdoms before the cross.  He took them on in the wilderness of Judea and won the victory there. He then celebrated the victory in the garden near Golgotha.  The whole ministry of Jesus is to transform a wilderness into a garden.  The Bible began in a garden and ends in a garden-like city.

When the devil told Jesus in the wilderness that he would give Him the kingdoms of this world Jesus, of course, would not bow to him.  He defeated the devil in the desert as the Son of Man because He did not use deity powers to do so.  That gives us hope of overcoming the devil also.  On the cross, Jesus legally, judicially and covenantally stripped Satan of all his authority and made an open show of his being defeated. The Soul and Original Intent

Let’s look at “Call to me and I will answer you” through a modern American paradigm: I call on the Lord and He will answer – I will tell Him what I need and He will give it to me because He is a loving God. You know, kind of like curbside grocery delivery. I took the time to get my list together and I took the time to call about this list. Now, it’s on Him to deliver!  I’m afraid we North Americans operate out of an entitled mindset not only in our relationship with earthlings, but also in our relationship with God. If I call on Him then ________ (insert pre-determined answer here). The problem with an entitled relationship with God is where the entitlement is rooted. If it is rooted in the Spirit, according to the covenant, then it will put you in a posture of dominion. If, however, it is rooted in the soul then it will hold you in a victimized defensive posture. The soul will keep you chained out of reach of God’s original intent which is indeed dominion. Or said another way, the soul will keep you from being heaven on earth.  (Second excerpt from Melissa Gabler’s article “Call on Him”.)

February is for Focusing on the Face of the Lord

The month of FEBRUARY IS FOR FOCUSING ON THE FACE OF OUR LORD Who is for us, rather than focusing on the opposing factors that are attempting to defeat us.   “Why are you down in the dumps, dear soul? Why are you crying the blues? Fix my eyes on God— soon I’ll be praising again. He puts a smile on my face. He’s my God.” (Ps.42:5, Msg)    “When they opened their eyes and looked around all they saw was Jesus, only Jesus.” (Matt.17:8, Msg)
