Shaking Norms

Paintshaker
While new NORMS sound really awesome, new NORMS also mean some old ones are going to be shaken. The kind of “shaken” I’m referring to is described in Hebrews 12.  Shaken there meansagitate, rock, topple, destroy, disturb, incite, stir up”.  That doesn’t sound like a line I want to get in deliberately.  Of course, Hebrews 12 is about a holy upheaval of old norms from the Old Testament times that set the stage for new ones for the New Testament times.  It was a forty year shaking during the transition.  The KJV basically says what could be shaken was shaken.  The Message puts it like this, Heb 12:27, “the shaking was a thorough housecleaning, getting rid of all the historical and religious junk so that the unshakable essentials stand clear and uncluttered” . . . an unshakable kingdom!
