Don’t Let Your Mind Go There

We can deflect what the enemy sends against us. DEFLECT: “to change direction by interposing something”. How do we interpose one of these God-provided tools? When the enemy launches an attack, whether it is physical, verbal, mental or spiritual, we can “change the direction” of that attack (deflect) by speaking out the Word of God, or praising God, or by making the opposite declaration of what the enemy is bringing against us. Don’t let your mind go where the attack wants it to go. Keep your mind on those things that are noble, just, pure, lovely, good report and things that have virtue (Phil.4:8). (Excerpt three from Marty’s article “Deflecting Attacks and Seeing the Intervener”.)

Your Home #22 – May your home be a place where people dwell on the good report.

“Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating
on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst;
the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you
learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes
everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.” (Phil.4:8-9, Msg)
