Keep Out Tendency to Obsess
May the power of the Word of God and enablement of the Holy Spirit help us keep out tendencies to obsess over difficult people. “Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. 19 Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new…” (Isa.43:18-19a, Msg)

Why Are We In This Present Mess?
“Why are we in this present mess and why is God allowing it?” That is basically what Gideon was asking. The old phrase comes to mind, “How soon they forget”. Gideon was asking that question in Jud.6:13 but if we scoot back up a few verses to verse one it plainly states, “The children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord…”. Perhaps one reason humans let their “forgetter” work so efficiently is because we pretty much feel that we are not accountable for what we don’t remember. Yet, consequences still follow.
