Wiser To Listen

listen

May the Lord help us to not speak when it would be wiser to
just listen in particular settings; and may we trust the Lord
to handle the outcome of what we felt was so important to
say in those settings.

“And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business,
and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;”
(1Thess.4:11, KJV)

Provision Before Problem

provision

Though I didn’t realize it, that worshipful, prophetic declaration that day at the piano was also a cry from my heart for a moment of comfort and quietness that would shut out all the noise of need and concern and “what-ifs.”  The awesome Spirit of my God did not miss nor ignore that heart-cry.  If desperation had my ship listing, His four-word echo set me aright.  If anxiety was smothering, His words brought me a deep breath.  If time was threatening, His words turned the clock back.  If I feared I was at an unchangeable end, hope took me back to a new beginning.   He was reminding me that before circumstances piled up, before dysfunction developed, before trouble troubled, He had seen it coming, and He had the table set for me before my enemies even got there.  When I said, “You are the Lord of this moment” and He echoed, “And the moment before,” it was a powerful reminder that His provision is there before the problem.

A Lively Stone

stone wall

As the people of God assemble today, may each person realize the importance of, and see the value of their place as, a lively stone in the household of God. May they fit appropriately into the wall where the Lord God has set them and augment the local work and the other lively stones they have been set with.

“Present yourselves as building stones for the construction of a sanctuary vibrant with life, in which you’ll serve as holy priests offering Christ-approved lives up to God.” (1Pe.2:5, Msg)

A Sudden Good Break

jump up

May the Lord grant you a sudden good break
that brings you much needed relief.

Proverbs 13:12 (MSG) ” Unrelenting
disappointment leaves you heartsick, but a
sudden good break can turn life around.”

And The Moment Before

Piano window

I sat alone downstairs at the piano, not really playing any particular song but simply flowing in sounds that came with His presence.  I did not intend to sing but these words slipped out of my heart, “You are the Lord of this moment.”  As soon as my words met the air, like an echo response I heard, “AND THE MOMENT BEFORE.”  I could not have explained the sudden weeping had anyone overheard it, for it was a gusher from my heart outside my logic or understanding.  Then when my understanding did open, the weeping would not stop. It was a powerful reminder that His provision is there before the problem.

Wisdom, Purity, Power

heart mindMay the Lord grant us wisdom in our minds,
purity in our hearts and power in our hands
to be and do all that He has mandated us to
do in a lifetime.

“My goal in giving you this order is for love
to flow from a pure heart, from a clear
conscience, and from a sincere faith.”

Creation Is Still Waiting

world

Creation is still waiting for the sons of God to get connected to that Higher Source. Creation has witnessed what man and his philosophical mindsets produce and creation is still groaning for the revealing of the sons of God who produce what the Vine energizes. Never mind, operator, the connection is still good.

Rejoicing With Loved-Ones

reunion

May you have seasons of rejoicing and celebrating
with loved-ones who hear your name and think fondly
of you. May you enrich their lives and may they enrich yours.

“…He also told us that you always have fond memories of us
and want to see us, as we want to see you….” (1Thess.3:6b, GW)

Disconnecting From Mind Of This Age

mind world

We must disconnect from emotions that tell us God’s plan is no longer any good or that it has been abandoned. We do not want to be connected to the mind of this age and its limitations. It was indeed a miracle that Peter walked on water especially when his eleven buddies were clinging to the sides of the boat… from the inside.

Simply Let God’s Spirit Show His Power

clouds sky

As the people of God assemble today may their preachers simply let God’s Spirit show His power and may the people of God be moved upon by that Spirit power and move out into the coming week with testimonies of the possibilities of the workings of God Almighty.

“When I talked with you or preached, I didn’t try to prove anything by sounding wise. I simply let God’s Spirit show his power.” (1Co 2:4, CEV)

Keep Me From Failure

May the Lord wash and cleanse you from every
failure, every doubt and every judgment from
others so that you may enter the coming season
with expectancy for the extraordinary of God.

“Keep me from failure and disgrace….”

Elements That Prevent

disconnected

Paul called those enslaving, preventative mindsets “beggarly elements” (Gal.4:9). It was not even the fact that those institutions and traditions, in and of themselves, were so evil. It was that they had such little value that they were not worth clinging to. The “clinging to” meant a rejection of those possibilities from the heavenly viewpoint. Clinging to one precludes clinging to the other. Connecting to one causes disconnection from the other.

(This is the twelfth excerpt from Marty’s article “Operator, Operator, I’ve Been Disconnected!” which was published in Volume 11 Issue 5 of their ministry magazine SEEC Magazine. Excerpts will be posted Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.)

Vigor At Any Age

elder climber
Even as the Lord kept His hand upon Moses for His purposes through him for the saving of a nation, may the Lord keep His hand on His sons and daughters that they retain their vigor, eyesight and clarity of mind. May their steps be quick and sure that they may fully serve the timing of the purposes of God Almighty for as long as He deems necessary in a nation that needs saving.

“Moses was 120 years old when he died; his eye was not dim nor his natural force abated.” (Deut.34:7, Amp)

“Moses was 120 years old when he died. His eyesight was sharp; he still walked with a spring in his step.” (Deut.34:7, Msg)

FMCI Annual Conference * Advancing

Advance FMCI2014_400

Apostle Jim Hodges—
Equipping the family of God in their Kingdom assignments is
a priority at this time. The saints must be transformed from
being consumer Christians to become cultural influencers!
This will require a higher level of training, discipling, and
equipping for the people of God!
In light of this pressing need, we have designed our annual
conference to be an equipping time. There will be more time
allotted to interactive training and ministry. Practics and
application will be presented by those who are fulfilling
their callings in the church, civil government, marketplace,
and all spheres of life and culture.

Connecting To A Better Way

umbrella
When the man who invented the umbrella walked out on the streets of London with it for the first time, people stoned him. He refused to continue to succumb to the elements and connected himself to a higher level of perception of his surroundings and those who had no desire to connect any differently than they already were could not deal with the change. There was a better way to live, a better way to do things and prevent sickness from exposure but it was different from the elemental things of the age. Things signaling a new age, or even perhaps, from an age to come were feared and not welcome.

Not Bound To The Elemental

Rusty anchor
The rudimentary and elemental things are those things that anchor the ship in the harbor and refuse to put the wings on the plane so it can soar in heavenly places. Paul’s chagrin over the Galatians was because they were living as though their lives were bound by earthly elements and the outcome of their lives was being determined merely by the weak and beggarly principles they had connected themselves to—as though there was some kind of obligation to maintain a grip on them because someone espoused them.

(This is the tenth excerpt from Marty’s article “Operator, Operator, I’ve Been Disconnected!” which was published in Volume 11 Issue 5 of their ministry magazine SEEC Magazine. Excerpts will be posted Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.)

Oil Of Joy For Mourning

oil of joy

As the people of God assemble today, may they, like their loving God,
comfort those who mourn and surround them and minister to them
in such a way that the mourners may receive the oil of joy for mourning.
May there be such facilitation that they receive the garment of praise for
the spirit of heaviness and leave that time of worship and fellowship with lifted heads.

“…To comfort all who mourn,  3  To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them
beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit
of heaviness;” (Isa.61:2b-3a)

Effectual Replies

impart life, truth and resolve in every situation.

Beyond Limitations

converted PNM fileJesus instructed His disciples to pray that the Kingdom of Heaven would come to earth (Mt 6:10). That is one major reason why the moves of God and manifestations of God in this earth are so important—because they lift our sense-oriented sight and sense-enslaved minds beyond the pitiful limitations of man’s small world. Which brings me to ask the question: How in the world did Peter ever walk on water?! To see what we have never seen and to do what we have never done, we must connect to what we have never been connected to!

Purpose Not Cluttered

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERAMay the Lord keep us with His Word and His Wisdom that we
not become convoluted with side-tracking issues and that we
not clutter up our purpose and focus with relationships that
God has not ordained.

“Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers [do not make
mismated alliances with them or come under a different
yoke with them, inconsistent with your faith]. For what
partnership have right living and right standing with God
with iniquity and lawlessness? Or how can light have
fellowship with darkness?” (2Cor.6:14, Amp)

A Far Different Point Of Reference

Point of referenceIt is likely that Jesus would often use the term “Kingdom of Heaven” attempting to get the people’s focus off the “weak and beggarly” (Gal.4:9) and the things that so readily paint a picture of the impossible. Such terminology as “Kingdom of Heaven” shows that it is the Kingdom that is in stark contrast to the limitations of earth and its mindsets. Jesus said,  “My Kingdom is not of this world” (Jn.18:36). He just as well could have said, “My Kingdom is not of the mindset of this present age.” Jesus had a far different orientation, a far different point of reference and totally different values that He so longed for people to get connected to.

Why Connect To The Useless?

plug in tree

The word “elemental” in Gal.4:3 means “an element, first principal; the letters of the alphabet as the elements of speech, not however the written characters, but the spoken sounds.” It is like taking a fuse and never putting it down into the powder so that the cannon can be fired. The fuse is such an elemental part of the whole process. It would be something like holding the fuse and showing people the fuse, even lighting the fuse but never realizing the power of the powder and power of the cannon. The fuse would just burn down to nothing with no result for having held it or having lit it. It would be just the futile waste of one good match. By the time we get to v.9 Paul is referring to those elemental things as “weak and beggarly” and pleading with the Galatians to know why they have connected themselves once again to such useless legalistic exercise.

No Reason To Live A Lesser Version

people pointing upAs the people of God assemble today, may they realize there
is no reason for us to live a lesser version of what God
intended us to be. Let each of us provoke others to be
what they were born to be.

“….keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last
forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has
great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans
they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for
good. He gets the last word; yes, he does.” (1Pe.5:9b-11, Msg)
