Sometimes we consider running away when the lion comes. But if we don’t persevere and defeat the lion in our face today (if we don’t defeat the strong mindsets and the rage that’s trying to rob us of purpose today), we won’t be equipped to face the bear. Then if we don’t confront the bear or the negative attitudes, unresolved offenses, flaws, they will hibernate then cycle back and cause trouble again. (Matt. 24:13) —Kathy

Take God’s Love Into Account
Do not adopt the world’s sense of hopelessness. Their hopelessness does not take God’s love or miracles into account… but be transformed by the renewing of your mind (Rom.12:2). Do not be held in the present circumstances that try to hold you in their grasp. Get into the Word and get God’s picture of things.

Trouble Linked to Promotion
When trouble came to David on that hillside, he couldn’t see how being attacked by
a lion had anything to do with being king of Israel someday. That day all he saw was teeth, hair and eyeballs lunging at him. He had no idea killing that lion connected to confronting a bear or how that was preparatory to killing a giant or how that would favor him as a candidate for king. (Rom.8:28) —Kathy

The Unconventional as You go
We know a lady who got to see Father do the unconventional to redeem a life. She was trying to get a certain vacation booked for her family for spring break. She tried with three different agencies and couldn’t get it done. Finally, she got ahold of a young man with an agency in another part of the nation and began to tell him what she wanted. But suddenly she had an urge to tell the young man that she is a pastor’s daughter. He responded, “Well, I am a pastor’s son. But I haven’t been to
church in years.” Then she got a word of knowledge for him. She said, “There are three things that have happened in the last three days that have been very difficult for you and the Lord wants you to know that He is working in all of them to bring about victory for you.” The young man began to weep. Our friend patiently waited for a bit and then he said, “You are not hearing nearly what I would cut loose with if I wasn’t in this office with all these people. Just this morning on the way in to work, I was sitting in traffic and just yelled out, ‘God, if You are there and You are real, You are going to have to do something to let me know!’”. He said that in the last three days his wife had told him she was leaving him, he found out that he is about to go bankrupt and he had decided to take his life. Our friend told us that she finds it interesting that Father is consistently using her more along those lines outside of the four walls of the church than He does inside them, when He used to use her more inside the four walls. Father is going to use each of us in unconventional ways in 2020. All we have to do is what Jesus instructed us to do: “AS YOU GO preach the Kingdom…” (Matt.10:7). AS WE GO we can speak and demonstrate the Kingdom of God (His rule and authority and character) to those He puts in our path as we go.

He Breaks the Drought of Hopelessness
As the people of God assemble today may they encourage one another that where there is no cloud of provision there can be a cloud the size of a man’s hand the next time they go look and that the time they look after that, they can experience the rain of plenty provision that breaks the drought of hopelessness. “…and there was a heavy rain.” (1K.18:45a)

Changing Our Reference Point
The developing of a person’s character includes God getting a hold on his/her tongue. Since we have been accustomed to speaking from our own personal reference point, we must allow God to begin to change our reference point to His reference point. People, circumstances and time will be used by God to mold us and shape us and transform us into a usable vessel. (Ps 35:28)

The Thrust of Relationship
Need-based relationship: someone being in a relationship for what the other person or institution can do for them, not for what they can put into the relationship for a greater cause. There should be a point at which seeking to be part of the expression of Father’s Kingdom and being productive for Father is the main thrust of the relationship and His meeting our needs is just a bi-product of facilitation for that purpose. (Matt. 6:33)
