LIVING KINGDOM PRINCIPLE — TRUE RICHES

LIVING KINGDOM PRINCIPLE — TRUE RICHES

treasureWe desire that the King be able to trust us with true riches. Lk 16:10-12 “Who will trust you with true riches?” In v.10 Jesus relates to us the principle that he who does not stay around long enough to be proven cannot be trusted.  V.11 speaks of the true riches which He desires to entrust to us. The “talents” or money in Mt 25:14-29 which the Master entrusts to His servants are only a measure and test because He so desires to endue the trustworthy with true riches for the purpose of great accomplishment for the Master’s plan. True riches are things that get done what money (“unrighteous mammon” -v.11) cannot get done. “TRUE”: Gk. alethinos — opposite to what is fictitious, counterfeit, imaginary, simulated or pretended; opposite to what is imperfect defective, frail, uncertain (Thayer). All of the above describes this age and its system—its means and results. Any means or results short of Holy Spirit’s doing are defective and imperfect. Those who operate in the Kingdom of God get things done with the enablement of true riches.

“COMING” THROUGH TIME & TRIAL

“COMING” THROUGH TIME & TRIAL

hands on ropeThe process is worked in us and as we submit to the process and principles, the way God does things, we will get the kind of results Jesus got. It evidently is a “coming” through time and trial. From the message of Scripture (cf. Lk 16 in the following paragraph) it would appear that it is a both/and process: (1) men are aggressively taking hold of the Kingdom (Mt 11:12; Lk 16:16) and at the same time, (2) the Kingdom is processing them (Lk 16:10-12).

(This is the eigth excerpt from Marty’s article “The Kingdom, The Process, The Benefit”)

COMING THROUGH HUMAN AGENCY — PROCESS

COMING THROUGH HUMAN AGENCY — PROCESS

hands reachingAccording to the language Jesus used in Matthew, the coming of the Kingdom of God is a process. Mt 6:10 “Thy Kingdom come.” The word “come” in that verse means: to come forth, to find place or influence; to be established (Thayer). This is not a magical popping into existence. The Kingdom comes forth, finds place and influence and is established in and through human agency today just as it came through human agency in Lk 4:21, Mt 12:28, Lk 9:10, and Lk 11:20. It came through Jesus and through His disciples. (cf. Jn 14:12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater {works} than these shall he do; because I go to the Father. NAS)

Jesus, The Message And The Kingdom

ray of lightThough Jesus used the term “kingdom” often, He nowhere defined what He meant by the phrase. George Eldon Ladd notes that we must therefore assume that (1) the content of the phrase was so commonly understood by the people as to need no definition or that (2) the meaning of Jesus’ proclamation is to be interpreted in terms of His total mission and conduct.

In Lk 4:21 Jesus proclaimed, “This day is this scripture fulfilled.”  The words and actions of Jesus are, therefore, the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God is realized in the very ministry of Jesus. The key to the meaning of the Kingdom is Christology. Jesus not only utters the message of the Kingdom of God, He is Himself the message (J. Jeremias).

Delegated Rule

The Kingdom of God came into the earth through the Person of Jesus. JESUS (1) comes to earth, (2) learns obedience as a servant, pleases the Father in His obedience and, in so doing, (3) brings the authority, the rule, the reign of the Father into history and (4) experiences victory in every confrontation with the kingdom of darkness.  God’s rule and citysunlightreign are today evidenced through delegated authority that proceeds out of JESUS’ all-inclusive authority (Mt 28:18). Just as God’s rule has entered the earth in history through the Person of Jesus, His rule enters the earth today as His authority flows through His sons who are being made in the image of JESUS. (Rom.8:29)

Discipline And Sacrifice

Discipline And Sacrifice

Pray-kneelingIn order to participate in the authority and benefits of the Kingdom of God, we must understand and embrace the characteristics of the King of the Kingdom (cf. Ps 103:7). Requisites may include desire, discipline and even sacrifice if we are to take the Supreme Servant, Jesus as our example.

The Bi-Product

PraiseThe Bi-Product

It is not bad to have needs. It is not wrong to desire to receive from God. But there should come a point of development in relationship with God that focus on needs and receiving is not the basis for the relationship. Need is how and why we come to Jesus but there should be growth and development from that point. There should be a point at which seeking to be part of the expression of Father’s Kingdom and pleasing Father and being productive for Father is the main thrust of the relationship and His meeting our needs is just a bi-product of facilitation.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (Matt.6:33)

Applied Responsibility

Applied Responsibility

ticket     The teachings, experiences and writings of the apostles matured, developed and equipped believers to be agency through which the Kingdom would be evidenced in this earth (Acts 8:12; 14:22; 19:8; 28:23,31; 1Co 4:20). Simply put, there is more to being a Christian than merely accepting Jesus as Savior and waiting for an opportunity to get our ticket to heaven punched. A realization of the Kingdom of God, a seeking of the Kingdom of God (Mt 6:33) will take us beyond mere “heaven-consciousness” to a maturing/developing process which results in more applied responsibility as sons, and that results in more visibility of the power of God in this present world and that meets man’s needs while bringing glory to God.

The Kingdom, The Process, The Benefit

The Kingdom, The Process, The Benefit

Most of us have been vaguely aware of things going on in the spirit realm and their effect in the natural realm. We may not have been acutely tuned in to what is happening but we are grateful that they have been happening and that there are, at least, some results that are noticeable and some that are of benefit to our way of thinking.

jesus-disciples 2We are glad to be identified with Christianity. People who first came into contact with Jesus in His earthly ministry noticed His miracles of healing and bread-breaking and followed Him for those benefits. They did not seem to produce or accomplish anything except fill the ranks as onlookers and receivers of benefits. His twelve disciples followed him for a few years as he spoke of and demonstrated the Kingdom of God. In teaching them to pray, He taught them a prayer of offering themselves as agency for the coming of that Kingdom into this earth (Mt 6:9-13). He spent His last forty days on this earth speaking to them of the Kingdom of God (Acts 1:3) and then He sent His Holy Spirit to empower them for their part in demonstrating the Kingdom (Lk 24:49; Acts 1:8).

Invisible Influence

Invisible Influence (Kathy)

Isaiah 30:19-21, is another pivotal scripture for this year as it addresses coming out of a siege and getting downloads from the Holy Spirit.  For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; you shall weep no more; He will be very gracious to you at the voice of your cry. When He hears it, He will answer you.  And Jehovah gives you the Walking on the Sidewalkbread of adversity and the water of affliction; yet your teachers shall not be removed into a corner any more, but your eyes shall see your teachers.  And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way, walk in it, when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left.  “A word behind you,” indicates an invisible influence, that Divine Teacher that will prompt with conscience or memory or supernatural knowledge or wisdom.  I believe this year we should expect more Holy Spirit promptings like that “voice behind” with that instructive glimpse or a download while driving or a dream that impacts or a vision that equips. Therefore, it is essential that we recognize and acknowledge glimpses like dream parts, momentary visions and thoughts out of context.  A helpful 1-2-3, to train our thinking for Holy Spirit downloads this year would be, 1) acknowledge, 2) consider, 3) connect.  For His input to have impact, we must connect it to our lives through action or change or as a tool, a strategy, a weapon, a skill or a gift.  And to connect it, we must first consider it until we understand it.  Put your seat belt on and expect that “word behind you” to be louder and more frequent this year.

The Pace Of Purpose

The Pace Of Purpose (Kathy)

Another consideration in that gap between expectation and manifestation is the pace of purpose during process.  We must adjust our passions to the pace of purpose sail boatsrather than trying to adjust God’s purpose to the pace of our passions. Whether we can see how or not, our purpose always connects to other people and a bigger picture.  So, the pace of our purpose will ebb and flow at times because of who and what surrounds us in a season.  Expectations and discernment can get bogged down during the ebbs, so keeping our “expector” above the bog is essential.  I am not implying that it is a new thing for the Holy Spirit to release insights, but I believe they are going to increase in dimension and impact to a new level this year.

Time Between Expectation And Manifestation

Time Between Expectation And Manifestation (by Kathy Gabler)

One thing that keeps us walking steadily forward in working out our salvation and our purpose is expectation. The length of time between expectation and manifestation is rarely reaching uppredictable and usually only clear to God and hindsight.  In that gap between “the now” and “the future,” that gap between “anticipate” and “achieve,” that gap between “reach” and “hold,” our greatest challenge is to keep processing and not give up.  Perhaps we will be more apt not to quit if we understand three things about expectation: 1) Expectation is a force to be reckoned with because it can build a runway for the future.  Expectation can be a literal form of agreement that opens a portal into our lives.  2) One snare to beware of is that expectations can lock you down.  People tend to watch for and only hear what they expect and so they are blinded to the hand of God moving in any other way.  Our single focus on specific expectations can make us miss the real answer to our prayers.   3) Another snare is that expectations are not always positive.  People expect condemnation when they feel guilty.  People expect failure because of experience.  People expect rejection because of wounds.  Training and aligning our expectations is one way to prepare to see and receive God-results through process this year.

Many Languages Bless The Lamb

This is the day the Lord has made so…

I will rejoice and be glad that all around the world I am rejoicing with millions today that we have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, and in Passover_Lambmany languages we are all blessing Him and honoring Him who was slain.

9 And they sang a new song, saying:  “YOU ARE WORTHY  to take the scroll,And to open its seals;  FOR YOU WERE SLAIN,  And have REDEEMED us to God  BY YOUR BLOOD  Out of  every tribe  and  tongue  and  people  and  nation,

10 And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.”

11 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands,

12 saying with a loud voice:  “WORTHY IS THE LAMB WHO WAS SLAIN  To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!”

13 And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And  TO THE LAMB FOREVER AND EVER!” (Rev.5:9-13, NKJV)

Rejoice–We Are Redeemed By The Blood Of Jesus!

This is the day the Lord has made so…

cross nail handI will rejoice and be glad in it because I have been redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus who God raised from the dead!

18 knowing that you were not  REDEEMED  with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, 19 but with the  PRECIOUS BLOOD OF CHRIST,  as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. 20 He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times  FOR YOU  21 who  THROUGH HIIM  believe in God, who  RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD  and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. GOD BROUGHT TO LIFE–CHRIST AND US!

GOD BROUGHT TO LIFE–CHRIST AND US!
12 [Thus you were circumcised when] you were buried with Him in [your] baptism, in which you were also raised with Him [to a new life] through empty-cross[your] faith in the working of God [as displayed] when HE RAISED HIM UP FROM THE DEAD.

13 And you who were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh (your sensuality, your sinful carnal nature), GOD BROUGHT TO LIFE together with [Christ], having [freely] forgiven us all our transgressions,

14 Having cancelled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us). This [note with its regulations, decrees, and demands] He set aside and cleared completely out of our way by NAILING IT TO HIS CROSS. (Col.2:12-14, Amp)

Worked Out Through Process

child stepsWorked Out Through Process (Kathy)

If we prepare for purpose by yielding to His “reasoning together,” there is manifestation and fulfillment. Purpose has too many facets to fit in a single jump anyway. Some of its many facets are seasons, expressions, maturing and relationship with people, places and things.  A prophetic word to a nine year old that they will be a missionary cannot be limited to their nine-year-old understanding and definitions, nor to their parent’s traditional, experiential definition, nor to their beliefs and misbeliefs up to that moment. Their call might not be on the church mountain but a mission to the business, government, education or medical mountain.  Like working out our salvation, purpose is worked out through a process of opportunity by opportunity, obedience by obedience, insight by insight and year by year.

The “Working Out” Of Our Salvation

The “Working Out” Of Our Salvation (Kathy)

“Work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure,” Phi. 2:12,13 walking at sunriseThere is no option for working out our salvation.  I’m not talking eternal life but the saving of our souls issue by issue, until we are transformed into the image of Christ in this lifetime.  This “working out” is process, ever moving, changing and becoming, and as far as I can tell, it is more walking than broad jumping.  It seems like broad jumping would speed up time and results, but timing really is not about the clock or calendar but rather the pace of purpose.  Timing becomes most relevant as it intersects God’s purpose.  If we prepare for purpose by yielding to His “reasoning together,” there is manifestation, fulfillment and “ahh’s” of success in those intersections with His timing.  Appointed times come because we submit to correction and keep walking steadily on through process, not because we jumped in the middle of something unprepared.

2013 Downloads by Kathy Gabler

I heard a prophetic word recently that we are at the end of a 36 month siege on the mind and circumstances, and that we are entering a new chapter of two talkingour lives.  That was good news to me and it aligns with some of my meditations for this year.  As I awoke recently, Isaiah1:18, was on my mind. “Come let us reason together,” means let us correct, make right or decide together.  Coming out of a time of a mental siege is an ideal time to hear a call to make changes for the future.  “Though your sins be as scarlet,” says that our shortfalls and missing-the-mark failures are as obvious as a bloody nose, and it is time to confront issues in our lives so the outcomes ahead will be “as white as snow.”  The focus in this scripture is cooperating with God who is at work in us through the process of reasoning together to get us into the next chapter.

“Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool.” (Isa.1:18)

In Authority Means Under Authority

In Authority Means Under Authority

Salute-2When the prodigal came to himself and realized he had stepped outside the bounds of his metron, he declared, “I am going to return to my father’s house.” In the culture of that time, that meant he was returning to his father’s rule and embracing the metron of his father’s determining. It was not until after his considering that he stunk, his clothes were tattered, he had tightened his belt up to the last loop and here he sat with pigs for company. He received the centurion’s revelation: a man under authority is a man in authority (Mt 8).  When he returned in that posture, it was then that the father once again measured his capacity and gave him the means to represent him in the marketplace (Lk 15:22). Our Father measures and sets the limits of our metron for His glory. He is too wise to act irrationally and too compassionate to be cruel. Let the wineskin yield in His hands.

2Co 10:13  We, on the other hand, will not boast beyond our legitimate province and proper limit, but will keep within the limits [of our commission which] God has allotted us as our measuring line… (Amplified)

(This is the last excerpt of the article “Your Sphere Of Influence”)

Supply For Servants

Supply For Servants

By the time the prodigal gets to the pig pen, this guy is having to eat that which is nothing more than left-over and waste. He is suffering at this level because he has stepped out of his metron pigpen(sphere of influence) not satisfied to yield to his father’s wise timing. Thankfully, he came to himself in that situation and realized that his father’s servants, in their metron, fared better than he did. Although he was a son, the servants were better off than him at this point and their position and circumstance was far more desirable than what he had being out of position as a son born to privilege and inheritance. After wasting the measure of rule he had carved out for himself, he realized that he had presumptuously grasped a measure of rule he was not ready for. If a private in the army can stay within his measure of rule, he will have all the food he needs, all the gasoline for his jeep, all the bullets for his rifle and all the medical care he will need; and he will never pay rent or electric bills  (Mt 6:33-and all these things will be added unto you). His peers will never be allowed to promote him or talk him into taking the position of a captain. As his superior officers observe him, they will measure his abilities and promote him accordingly (Ps 75:6-7).  The prodigal concluded, “My father’s servants have stayed within their measure of rule and look how well supplied they are.”

For not from the east nor from the west nor from the south come promotion and lifting up.

7 But God is the Judge! He puts down one and lifts up another. (Ps.75:6-7, Amp)

The Straw That Breaks The Back

camel loaded
The Straw That Breaks The Back

The prodigal got what he desired which was based upon his appetite, based upon what his aspirations could grasp. Those desires were nowhere near based upon the wisdom of His father. Our heavenly Father is too wise to act irrationally and too compassionate to be cruel. He continually measures us and will not put on us more than we are capable of bearing (compare Jn 6:5-6). He is never the one to lay on the proverbial straw that breaks the camel’s back.

(This excerpt is a continuation of the article “Your Sphere Of Influence” by Marty Gabler.)

Where Did Everybody Go?

Where Did Everybody Go?

Hand and empty pocket

God will not replenish what is not our God-given measure of rule and sphere of influence. The prodigal kept spending and spending, oblivious to the inevitable end when the bag would be empty. From the moment he stepped out from under his father’s weighing and measuring of him, from the moment he removed himself from the sphere his father had observed was best for him, that bag of gold began to diminish. When humans imagine and design the product of their own aspirations, the pleasure of walking in it for a season doesn’t allow them to consider financial, moral or emotional bankruptcy (Prov 14:12; Isa 47:8-9) nor how readily they use people to their own ends. Our zeal and energies can take us some distance but the tank will eventually run out. As Lk 15:16 proves, people will grow weary and find some place else to be.
