Wondering if You Have Ever Had a Purpose?

MARTY GABLER—Peter just stood there shaking his head, totally confused, because he had been telling people, “This Jesus has come to sit on a throne.” And now, this King of kings has just tried to explain to Peter that His way to that throne is to hang on a cross. Peter’s head began spinning in a dizzy flood of questions wondering, if he ever had a purpose. Though some irresistible gravity may be trying to pull us away, our Lord in Matt 24:13 has prayed for us and we CAN endure to the end and be saved. Jesus was so certain Peter could endure that in Lk.22:32 He said, “And WHEN you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” I declare that YOU will not only turn back from defeat and disappointment but YOU will also strengthen others.
