Face Like Flint
In Isaiah, the prophet shows Messiah setting his face like flint as He heads toward Jerusalem. He could not be dissuaded from His purpose. (Jn 18:37) “Steadfastly set His face…” (Lk 9:51) means “courage, firmness, resolution”. There are goals yet to reach. There is purpose yet to fulfill and mature sons of God will set themselves to accomplish what they are purposed for and will not shrink back or change their minds just because circumstances threaten.
