Stealth Mode Weapons

KATHY GABLER—Stealth Mode Weapons——Another stealth mode weapon that had long term effect in my life kept me focused on rules instead of relationship until I realized that God is not looking for perfect Christians but sons who will hold firmly to their sonship.  Look at the weapon formed against us as the church with the implication that our salvation is based on perfect behavior.  That misconception, that our salvation pivots on behavior rather than the cross, is a slap in the face of Christ, yet is widely embraced as though it were the gospel.  The cross is the pivot of our salvation.  Righteous behavior is a result of centering on the finished works of Christ.  The inordinate priority of legal and illegal behavior is a weapon, a religious misbelief that God is grading behavior to measure righteousness.  Instead, God is looking for sons who cannot be talked out of their righteousness, sons who will not be manipulated by fear and legalism, sons who will not be robbed by condemnation.  A son does not believe more in his ability to fail than in his relationship with his Father.  That kind of trust will enable mature sons to take the fuse out of any bomb thrown.
