Cain’s Heart

Kathy Gabler — Gen.4:5, “But for Cain and his offering God had no respect or regard.” Listen to that wording. There was something amuck with Cain’s heart and character already for God to have no respect for him as well as his offering. His character flaws became obvious when His behavior and action was not accepted by God. Instead of humbling himself before God for a son’s correction, He took offense! Prov.3:11, TPT — “My child, when the Lord God speaks to you, never take his words lightly, and never be upset when he corrects you.“

Made to Advance

MELISSA GABLER—We were made to advance the Kingdom in this moment.  We get to be alive to advance the Kingdom in this moment! God doesn’t do things by chance, He does them with intention.  I say this to say, you have the eternal plan of God inside of you, all you need to do is walk it out.  How do we walk it out? By relationship with our Father which solidifies our identity as a son or daughter made to manifest the dominion mandate.

Not Warring According to the Flesh

KATHY GABLER—“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.  For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,” (2 Cor.10:3-4, NKJ)  I pray we become a people of God, skillful in the use of un-carnal weapons.  I believe the first step to that goal is learning to recognize the difference between carnal (governed by mere human nature only) and un-carnal weapons.  If we simply “do what comes naturally,” we are choosing carnal weapons.  So, we must learn to do what comes super-naturally.  Emotional reactions that flare up in us are sometimes explosive and therefore seem powerful.  After all, we all know what it is like to fear someone’s upset or wrath.  However, emotional outbursts, like a persuasive tongue or logic or rationalization are common weapons of the natural man; therefore they are still carnal weapons and do not compare with un-carnal weapons like Godly authority and wisdom or Divine revelation and intervention.

Preserved in Purpose

MARTY GABLER—As the people of God assemble today may the people of God all worship Him and call on His name in one accord. And may they find, as they go through the week, that they are preserved in their person, their family, their job and their purpose. Ps.31:23, NKJV — “Oh, love the Lord, all you His saints! For the Lord preserves the faithful, And fully repays the proud person.”   v.23, EXB — “Love the Lord, all you ·who belong to him [loyal ones; saints]. The Lord protects those who ·truly believe [are faithful], but he ·punishes [repays] ·the proud as much as they have sinned [those who act with pride].”

August is for Looking Where our Help Comes From

MARTY GABLER—The month of August is for looking unto the hills where our help comes from. It comes from the Lord (Psalm 121:1-2). In August, let us do as instructed in verse one as we lift up our eyes to where our Help is. We must lift up our eyes to see beyond the immediate representations and visages of what appear to be immovable, indefatigable threats against purpose and life. Verse 3 unembarrassedly announces to us that “He will not suffer thy foot to be moved” while verse 5 boldly reminds us in the most certain of terms that “The Lord is thy keeper”. All through August we must lift up our eyes and run to the Rock (Ps.61:2) because the Psalmist proclaims with all assurance that “The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil; He shall preserve thy soul”.

Resurrection Life

MELISSA GABLER—The Man Jesus Who walked out of that tomb did it as an example for all of us as how life should be from then on and there is so much more to resurrection life than walking out of the grave. That sounds crazy because that’s the biggest thing we can think of on earth but it’s bigger than we can comprehend with our finite minds. We weren’t built to hang on and hope for the best. We were made to operate in resurrection life until life on earth is “as it is in heaven” and we usher the King into the new earth He is worthy of. What a time to be alive. I’m thankful we all get to live this resurrection life together!
