Entangled in the Present

Pharaoh said, “Israel is entangled in the wilderness” (Ex.14:3) and used it as an excuse to attack. “Entangled” means: involved. They were so worried with rocks, washouts, bushes and their present circumstances that they began to forget about the freedom on the other side of the wilderness. Defeats will linger in our lives as long as we take no measure to change and are willing to live with them (remain entangled). Gal.5:13, Amp — “For you, my brothers, were called to freedom; only do not let your freedom become an opportunity for the sinful nature (worldliness, selfishness), but through love serve and seek the best for one another.”
