Un-Carnal Weapons

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.  For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, (2 Cor 10:3-4NKJ)

man yellI pray we become a people of God, skillful in the use of un-carnal weapons.  I believe the first step to that goal is learning to recognize the difference between carnal (governed by mere human nature only) and un-carnal weapons.  If we simply “do what comes naturally,” we are choosing carnal weapons.  So, we must learn to do what comes super-naturally.  Emotional reactions that flare up in us are sometimes explosive and therefore seem powerful.  After all, we all know what it is like to fear someone’s upset or wrath.  However, emotional outbursts, like a persuasive tongue or logic or rationalization are common weapons of the natural man; therefore they are still carnal weapons and do not compare with un-carnal weapons like Godly authority and wisdom or Divine revelation and intervention.
