Keep Coming
When our Lord says, “Your thoughts are not my thoughts and your ways are not my ways,” that’s not a mere indictment but Hisacknowledging where we are. Upon that acknowledgment, His redemptive character is then extending an invitation to come up to His ways and come up to His thoughts. (Ps.103:7) He does not point out a disparity simply to make it more obvious. While our Lord declares to us that we are not quite there yet, we are welcome to come up and operate in His ways and think His thoughts. Can’t you hear His voice saying, “Keep coming, keep climbing, keep improving.” How useful to His purposes it is when we exceed our thoughts and ways and grasp hold of His.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isa.55:9)
