Enlarge And Stretch Forth

It is this writer’s conviction that the term “them” of Isa.54:2 is with reference to the term “children” in v.1. “Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes; (Isa 54:2 KJV) The expectant (by facilitation, not by accident) coming into place of those “children” and the increasing number of “them” is the reason of necessity to “enlarge, stretch, spare not, lengthen, and strengthen” (whether they be biological children or spiritual sons/daughters makes no difference). I believe it is with good reason that we count everyone within our sphere of influence as cause to enlarge our “tent” of edification/facilitation whether we are affectionately disposed or not. We must extend our influence through more than biological children to fulfill the mandate of Gen 1:28—”Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it.” Our spiritual children should outnumber our natural children.
