Let’s Back Off Prognostication

Let’s Back Off Prognostication
We must back off of prognostication. We tend to yield to prognostication when we are inundated by matter after matter, dilemma after dilemma. Prognostication considers all the present factors and concludes that the future will look a certain way because of those factors. Prognostication is when the weather man says that there is a high in Wyoming and a low in Alabama, so that means a certain temperature and a certain amount of rainfall for a certain area. He takes the known facts and proclaims a certain outcome based upon those facts alone. We must be careful not to act in this season upon known facts alone. Prophecy says that it doesn’t matter what high is where and what low is where, the Word of the Lord will be fulfilled and God will move heaven and earth to fulfill it. Prophecy looks at the future and proclaims that the Word of God will be fulfilled no matter what present circumstances seem to indicate. We must back off of prognostication and stand upon the Word of God. We walk by faith, not by sight. The Word of God is powerful. It is creative.

In this season I am praying this Psalm over my household and suggest that you do the same:
Psa 20:1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. MAY THE Lord answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob set you up on high [and defend you];
2 Send you help from the sanctuary and support, refresh, and strengthen you from Zion;
3 Remember all your offerings and accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah [pause, and think of that]!
4 May He grant you according to your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans.
5 We will [shout in] triumph at your salvation and victory, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners. May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.
6 Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand.
7 Some trust in and boast of chariots and some of horses, but we will trust in and boast of the name of the Lord our God.
8 They are bowed down and fallen, but we are risen and stand upright.
9 O Lord, give victory; let the King answer us when we call. (AMP)
